Is there a more natural boxer today than David Benavidez?

The guy just looks so comfortable in the ring, easy to forget he’s only 23. Throws textbook punches and combos set up by a busy, ramrod jab, varies his attack beautifully in placement and velocity. Great handspeed and power.

Defensively he’s nothing flashy, but looks as natural under fire as he does delivering his own. Tight high guard and good upper body movement, rolls well with punches and doesn’t get hit clean often.

Fully expect this young man to takeover 175 in the next few years.

The winner of Alvarez-Smith would be a good first fight at 175.

He doesn't even compete at his natural weight. Scumbag weight bully coward with questionable dedication.

I like Benavidez but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I hope he will fight Beterbiev by the end of 2021.

PBC consistently puts out trash matchups.

Benavidez vs. Plant was a legit matchup begging to be made....and yet miraculously the time on that has expired because fat ass can't make weight anymore.

I could really care less about any of those proposed fights he could make at 175.

He drains down to a weak division and he isn't even dedicated enough to put the work in to make the weight for world title defenses. And here you are praising him like he's a generational talent. Pure delusion.

He's not so comfortable on the scales where he gave his title away so Ginger nuts can now snap it up.

He's been boxing since he was 3 years old, so I wouldn't call that natural by any means. He's been developing his skills practically all of his life. I don't like the term weight bully because people who use it wouldn't say that about a fighter that they are a fan of. If you can make weight, then you belong there. Him missing the weight this time I believe is a true lack of discipline. I read an article earlier today where he said that he's staying at 168, he just has to clean up his diet a little bit. SMH. Also, testing positive for cocaine isn't good. Especially at this stage in his career. That said, I really hope he tightens up his circle and takes this sport more seriously because he can do some great things but he can't mess around with guys like Beterbiev and Bivol.

I already mopped the floor with you regarding that. You were totally beaten from pillar to post in that thread by myself and others.

Your just being a hypocrite. Beterbiev is naturally 190 pounds and fighting at light heavyweight yet you don't call him a coward. Run from the truth all you want. He's fighting below his natural weight
