As it turns out, the WBC didn't actually order Canelo to face Yildirim

Yes but Canelo isnt WBC SMW champ. He's just cherry picking another belt. Benavidez should fight Yildirim next

Isn't Usyk the wbom mandatoryd despitr never fighting at heavyweight? Why should benevidez be a mandatory when he just lost a belt on the scales? Wouldn't anyone else taking this fight just be "cherry picking a belt"

Surprised there isn’t a catchweight clause with rehydration limits. Maybe some outstanding judges like CJ Ross and Byrd thrown in as well. I mean, if you are going to stack the deck in Canelo’s favor anyways... may as well stick to the normal game plan. Oh oh and in Vegas too.

I didn't see a single fact. I saw an emotional rant for sure.

Yeah because it's one size fits all and not some guy jumping up and down the weights to cherrypick his way to easy DAZN subsidised paydays.

You're such an excuse maker when it suits you.

He's choosing to fight for the vacant WBC Super Middleweight Title but he's not choosing to fight Yildirim. This isn't a voluntary title defense or something where he's choosing who he fights. Yildirim was next in line for the title, he would be fighting for the title next regardless of Canelo's decision. It's just instead of Yildirim vs the #2 contender fighting for the vacant title he's fighting Canelo for it instead.

Well that's a good question. Canelo vs Smith would be probably the next logical fight to happen. If Canelo captures the WBC title then it only makes a fight vs Callum Smith bigger because then it would be a WBA / WBC Unification match instead of just a match of WBA Champs. Caleb Plant the IBF champ made it clear that he wasn't ready to fight Canelo yet, so he's taking the opportunity to fight for the WBC World Title that has just become vacant. Then if he wins he has more to bring to the table to a Callum Smith match.

You're letting Canelo off the hook for this BS. There are certain fighters you give a pass to. He's one of them.
