I know his resume was quite thin but still 17 defenses is quite impressive.

Oh, without doubt. The man's the sixth greatest lightweight ever.

More skilled but his title reign was about as impressive as Wilders imo. He only had 1 fight outside of Germany/Hungary and lost. The guy who beat him was obliterated by Diego corrales in his very next fight

Tbf, that guy was very special. Freitas just didn't have much heart, but he did beat Casamayor.

I'll defer to you on this as I didn't pay close attention to the light weight scene at the time but I always am skeptical of a champion who fights exclusively in Germany

You really fluffed up these accomplishments. Silvering in the Olympics or being an international title holder doesn't necessarily make you a world class pro. Racking up a bunch of wbo defenses in Germany also doesn't scream greatness. I just dont understand this line of thinking. He didn't do much other than beat a handful of alphabet titlists and that's about it.

Ranking a little low but the attitude is right. Solid
You mean THE Diego Corrales? The lightweight Tommy Hearns but better? The man who almost won a round against Floyd Mayweather, the junior? A very tough mountain to climb in a valley of tough mountains. Tough and rough

Now that's just very negative and rude. A real Negative Nancy you are. I want you to sit and think about your behavior. You dont to mess with a man who knocked out Michael Clark

Grigorian's career was a bit of a shame really and a real waste because he was a skilled, gifted fighter who we'll never now be able to gauge fully because of the sham WBO reign against mostly poor fighters.

Lacking a bit where power, athletic ability and reflexes were concerned, but an excellent technician imo. Smooth technique, very well schooled with nice, gliding footwork and an unusually good slip/counter type for an ex-Soviet-schooled fighter despite being hittable. He was tough too and very consistent in his approach but very injury prone with his hands and shoulders iirc. He seemed to exit his physical prime pretty early on and the hand/shoulder shite probably forced him to alter his technique a bit while simultaneously eroding it. He was shot by the time of the Freitas fight and cashing in, but in the mid nineties he was a very, very good fighter.

Those I mentioned whom he avoided were all Ring ranked lightweights during his time.Easily confirmed
NONE of the men he fought in title fights with the exception of Freitas, who floored him 4 times and beat him up ,were Ring ranked when he fought them.Easily confirmed , Grigorian was ,what used to be called A CHEESE CHAMPION.

Hometown boy in boxing terms. He fought weak opposition there too, WBO mandatories. Then he left, and immediately lost.So yes, he is a hometown boy
