As it turns out, the WBC didn't actually order Canelo to face Yildirim

That is very funny @kiwi_boxer if I am not mistaken you have made this claim before, which makes you now sound like a broken record. What is it like to be so delusional that you think two posters are the same person? FYI you are mistaken in your theory that I am another poster : I am my own poster and am nobody's alt.

Can we admit Canelo is cherry-picker and has been for some time?

Well, we don't know if it was Canelo himself who wanted it, or his team.
Maybe it was a combination of both.
There is truth to canelo cherry picking fights, but he also takes risks.
Many said that no way would Canelo actually fight Trout, Lara, Golovkin(x2), Jacobs or even Kovalev(when that was first reported).

This could simply be team Canelo exploring all their options, as many fights have fallen through.

Yildirim is hot garbage. Even by SMW standards. Plenty of lesser known contenders box his ears off.

What are you talking about? If Canelo fought Beterbiev it would be the biggest fight in boxing right now, outside of Fury vs Joshua for the undisputed.

It won’t happen because Beterbiev would take Canelos soul and sensibly Canelo should not fight him ever.

Why would Artur want to drop down for Canelo. Artur is a real Champion

Why did Dawson want to drop down for Ward. Was Dawson a real Champion?

But Beterbiev's 35 years old, he'll be 36 in January. I thought by that age you are already well past your prime, and in some cases even a shell of your former self. At least that was the argument used to discredit Canelo when Canelo beat GGG who was 35/36 and when Canelo beat Kovalev who was 36.

How does hot garbage become the WBC #1 ranked Super Middleweight contender? He must be doing something right to become ranked that high.

    Paid them sanctioning fees.
And he beat Mock, who I believe had a good ranking at the time as well.

****ing Azizbek Abdugofurov is the #2 guy. The **** has he done? Paid those sanctioning fees of course.
Same with pretty much any orgs rankings. The moment you find someone odd in the rankings, you can easily see that they have held some minor titles for a while.

WBA is a special case tho. Their #1 guy at 168 was Lennox Allen. I have no idea how he got there, but he has not held any minor titles at all. Not according to boxrec at least.
Lost to 2-0 Cuban prospect tho.

 Dominic Wade was mandatory for Golovkin and even I don't try to pretend that he was anything better than mediocre because of that fact. The fact that Canelo actually asked for Yildirim is what is embarrassing.

Dominic Wade was a mandatory after Johnson fell out of the running. GGG never ASKED to fight that can.

Did GGG ASK to fight Milton Nunez in Panama City for the interim WBA World Middleweight Title? Or was he just fighting the guy who the WBA put in front of him to fight for a World Title?
