Yep 1 win against a top 5 guy and he should be ahead of everyone for the next shot imo. Conor will get the shot by beating a guy coming off 2 stoppage losses in a different weight class. UFC does what it criticizes boxing about. It's a farce.
Agreed. A win over Poirier would be worthy of a title shot, also. The question is that after that beating and at this age is Tony still the same fighter that he was. I think Khabib made a big mistake not making that fight happen while it could have. Not only would it have been fairly financially lucrative, but it would have done a lot for his legacy.
Thankfully the action in boxing is finally picking up but still bit tame compared to the massive fights and overall deep fight cards UFC have consistently served up since being the 1st big sport back after covid. There is so many other big fights still to come like Adesanya v Costa and Khabib v Gaetjhe but this Fergerson v Poirier fight could be best of them all if TFerg comes back strong as i expect him to after losing all that momentum he had built up before losing to Gaetjhe.
