Oh aye, but whenever the rematch is, it sells. As does Whyte v Dubois and Whyte v Allen.

Whyte’s career as a fringe title level fighter is probably done, but his time as a PPV main event we certainly aren’t.

That was shocking value for a £20 PPV

Not a matchroom fan mate, a brit and a fan of british fighters maybe.

But other than that I just know what I'm talking about, rather than blindly assuming because fury is a better fighter than povetkin that automatically makes him more "dangerous". Wilder is dangerous, more dangerous than fury but he's also a bum.

I think they could feasibly do Whyte vs Ruiz as a main event with a strong undercard and make it a PPV. I think that would be a fun fight and a fairly easy sell.

Not sure anyone has got in that much trouble at Hearn Towers since Epstein came round for a BBQ.

A man just went running passed my gaff shouting about pudding whilst beating a saucepan with a wooden spoon. I will try and get hold of him on the way back

Here’s the Povetkin from 2 years ago...

    This content is protected

The Povetkin that turned up tonight was even more shot than I could ever have imagined. That was an absolute farce of a fight, Dillian fed a very old washed up former excellent fighter. That Eddie was charging for that, especially in these very difficult times was disgraceful.

Regarding Whyte, we now know his level. He’s around the Chisora level, he’s a gatekeeper. A really difficult nights work with his size and will to win. He’s had Matchroom and the Sky narrative behind him, he’s been very very lucky with a few fights imo. Well done Povetkin for rolling back the years for a split second and chinning him.

By the way, I expect Whyte to beat him with ease in the rematch but it doesn’t really matter all that much cos tonight will go down as one of the most enjoyable, sweet knockouts. It will be lovely to not listen to the I’ve been mandatory, Fury’s ducking me nonsense for a few months.

Povetkin was being underestimated by Sky Sports commentators during the fight. Thought he won the 1st and possibly 3rd round.

Seems to be a lot of bitterness in these comments. Can’t people enjoy the result without getting involved in the promotional politics of boxing?
