That's fantastic he wins a rematch against an old man, but Fury, AJ and Wilder destroy him

    Not a champ

A poor version of prime del boy

No, Fury beat him to the punch and feinted him out of position, Whye doesn`t set his shots up by feinting so is easy to read which is how Pov timed him tonight.

Whyte, AJ and Wilder haven't improved for 5 years.

Their flaws are all fundamental. Can't be fixed.

Give Fury his belts and we can go on holiday till Dubious learns to box.

You are right, whyte was scared of povetkin.

He wasn't his usual self, very cautious he usually engages and brawls but he was very aware of povetkin superior technical ability and wanted it to go late or to points.

It's a Styles thing, dillian like to go to war in a slug fest, you can't do that against povetkin he's too good at picking shots.

I dont buy it. Povetkin had been training for that shot. I think proper analysis of Whytes fights show he is susceptible to the upper cut and against a very dangerous inside fighter like Povetkin I can see it happening again

Nah I think you are giving too much credit to wilder.

Wilder lost because for the first time in his career he faced someone who walked forward and put it on him. Someone who closed the distance. Its that simple. Everyone else he has fought has been scared of his power and wanted to try and box at range and inevitably got caught.

Wilder wouldnt beat any of the top 10.

Wilder is garbage, he's not even top 20 based on ability. He's no better than a pissed up guy on a night out who happened to be able to hit a punch machine very hard.

I am convinced if wilder fought the top 10 in the division he would win maybe 1 or 2 with a freak shot the rest would batter him like fury did.

“A shot like that.” Your words... Wasn’t Oscar Rivas uppercut that dropped Whyte “a shot like that” Joshuas was definitely “a shot like that”

Not trying to start trouble but Whyte is susceptible to the uppercut. It’s a glaring hole in his style. I don’t think Povetkin is being given credit for studying his opponent.

Yes that`s the problem with the high guard, Tyson used to be awesome at splitting the high guard with his uppercut I think that`s how he might knock Jones out who likes to covder up on the ropes.

Whether or not Whyte wins the rematch this showed his level. Povetkin looked so slow and old and yet he was able to eat dillian whytes power and knock him out completely cold.

Exactly this. People acting like hes been KOed by dave Allen. Povetkin a top pro and former Olympic gold medallist and had a game plan.

He may have looked slower than his prime, but Whyte got KOed by a short sharp upper cut from arguably the best inside fighter HW in the division. It wasnt a lucky fluke punch, it was pre planned and he took it when the opportunity arose.

Povetkins highlight reel is spectacular for a reason

Tbf, Povetkin had been on the canvas twice and it barely went past 4 rounds. However, he never looked to badly hurt from them

    Povetkin is a fantastic technu
Not a problem, I'll give you at least 10

    Fury
    Joshua
    Whyte
    Parker
    Pulev
    Povetkin
    Hunter
    Usyk
    Dubois
    Joyce
    Chisora
Miller ( if he wasn't banned)
    Ruiz
    Rivas
    Hrgovic

There's probably a fair few more as well

Who wouldn't beat him is more the question.

Mike tyson would beat wilder lol

Listen, wilder can knock out anyone, we know that.

But if he doesn't manage to land it all those guys outbox him easily and knock him out.

How can you honestly say wilder is better than any if them guys technically? As in a better boxer.

He's awfull on the back foot. Even worse inside and his puch variety consists of a straight right and a windmill.

He's the worst hw champion I've ever seen, a laughing stock. How anyone has him top 3 is comical based on what? Whyte lost tonight via great shot but his resume far surpasses that of Wilders.

    Wach would beat wilder

Micky theo is more Wilders level

    I don't think he does.

Speaking as someone who picked Povetkin, I am going to say flat out that the reason is that it is always hard for a fighter with one punch to beat a fighter with an arsenal. I though Povetkin would win it with an overhand right, but the point stands: this was NOT a war of left hooks, as some predicted. Povetkin indeed would have lost that.

No shame to Whyte. He deserved a title shot, and I hope he finds one. But he ain't going though Povetkin to get it.

We all know that when Joshua fights Fury, the WBO is going to strip and sanction Usyk-Parker for their belt. Whyte needs to position himself for the winner of that.
