Utter b*llocks. Of course Whyte deserved his shot but by cleaning his clock, so does Povetkin.

Shouldn’t be allowed a rematch clause in an eliminator.

Tbf I reckon Povetkin would be up for taking another PPV loot from the mugths.

Bit of a shambles if it happens.

At the end of the day he took the risk for the PPV money and it backfired unfortunately for him.

Want PPV money and a guaranteed shot regardless of the outcome.

    Very snakey and sly

Hearn was billing this fight as.. the winner will face Fury. When in reality it was only if Whyte wins he faces Fury.

Hearn will be up all night trying to keep a fury v joshua fight from happening tonight.

No excuses now tho. Joshua v pulev. Fury v wilder. Then straight to joshua v fury.

No more you need to fight this guy to fight that guy stuff.

Infact just seen hearn saying....they,ll take the rematch to see if whyte can win it to get his number one spot back.

Shocking tbh. Hes just been knocked out by a finished 42 year old povetkin...hes no business even thinking about fighting fury or joshua atm.

As a fan you have to question why your paying PPV for this fight, if the mandatory title isn't really on the lin due to a rematch clause.

Either way Eddie's a winner and he knows it.

Exactly what should be happening. Sometimes in boxing common sense points to one thing happening...then they find a way to avoid using that common sense.

What exactly has pulev done for his shot apart from sitting around for too long.

Pov confirmed he will be happy for a rematch that is in the contract, so we're going to get it again

Sneaky on Pov I agree, the man is nearly 41 and just ktfo'd Hearn's boy. Has to do it all again.

This is an absolute joke, Povetkin won an eliminator fair and square, he literally walked into the promoters back garden and iced his boy, if that isn't enough I don't know what is.

What do you expect from Hearn.

Taylor got absolutely steam rolled tonight but no matter what Taylor was winning it because Jonas (who had her losing) was there and “we’re trying to push the women’s game sooo hard in this cantry”.

Nice PPV for Jonas and Taylor now. I love fighting on the back foot and always pick quality over quantity but that was ridiculous, absolutely threw about like a rag doll, other bird never stopped punching and anything that came back was too little and walked right through. Macklin and Smith even sounded resigned to a defeat.

Rematch clauses undermine the risk/reward of professional sport. Fighters have no choice but to agree to them but it means we get **** like AJ-Ruiz 2 and Fury - Wilder 3 for another £25 each, when each had a clear winner in the previous fight.

Hope Povetkin does the same again, but i see Whyte fiddling his way through to win the rematch.

Time the sport was regulated. Sad in a sport like boxing things are skewed in one fighters favour so much. You basically need a knockout. Even if you get it....you,ve still got to rematch again away from home with everything again in the other guys favour.

I like eddie and matchroom tbh...but theres something wrong when they basically get to pick the opponent, get to basically pick the judges....the ref...the venue...the commentators....and now they need to rematch in an eliminator. Ridiculous really. Shows how corrupt the organisations are. The organisation in question should be calling the shots...should supersed any deal eddie hearn has with povetkin...shouldnt even be allowed anyway. Seems their only really interested when it benefits one of the big promoters. Pulev needs a shot right now...safe fight for joshua.

Whyte needs his shot right now...funnily enough when eddie wants to keep fury busy. How come whytes not had a definate shot in this 1,000 days...till fury won the belt. Always falls into place for the promoters....who spend most of their time avoiding the really big fights.

One minute the belts aren,t important the next its all about the belts depending on how much they fancy the fight. Organisations need to get serious and start calling the shots or strip the belt. None of this this promoter wont work with that one etc. Just take the belt off them if they wont.
