Whyte is ranked 3... Personally I don't agree with this. Considering how close he came to losing vs Chisora (not even top 10) twice, and how close Parker came to KO'ing him, and now this KO loss to 41 year old Povetkin, exploiting a clear massive vulnerability in his defence, which could very easily happen again.. I don't see any outcome in a fight between these two other than Whyte getting KO'd by Wilder. I understand Fury was only 50-60% his best in the first fight when he almost got KO'd, but even when he was 100% in fight 2, Fury literally dodged or blocked punches just in time several times. I personally think Wilder/Joshua is only split because AJ has the abilities, the titles and clear better record, but I still call this fight a 50/50 as AJ will probably get knocked down at least once unless he KO's wilder early. Whyte doesn't have enough about him in his resume or his ability to suggest he's above Wilder in the ranks. 1. Fury 2. AJ 3. Wilder -------- 4/5 - Pov/Whyte.
It would be interesting to see what Dillian does. He will probably try to hurt Wilder early, but I see him perhaps gassing out because Wilder is not easy to KO. I could see Whyte just pummelling Wilder for 1-2 rounds then walking into a shot.
I think we'd see Wilder do a chicken dance once or twice but his superior reach, athleticism and conditioning would eventually catch up(possibly in the mid rounds) and he'd catch Whyte big in one of those times where Whyte drops his left hand after throwing a jab and get him out of there.
Toss up. We need to see Wilder in the ring first though to see where he's truly at physically and mentally after the Fury loss. By appearance's he's gone off the rails a bit - posting videos of himself twerking and such. Where are the videos of him putting the work in?!
Probably Wilder but we all know how sloppy defensively he is. If he got caught with the second left hook that dropped Povetkin he’s be on ice skates and maybe be stopped as his chin isn’t very good.
Absolutely. I don't get the people who this is a white wash on paper one way or the other. But are sloppy in terms of technique, defense and are chinny. Whoever lands a shot first would probably win.
Depends on what Wilder is wearing at the ringwalk. If it's less than 20lbs he will win, more he will lose.
Depends how both come back from their losses. Wilder I reckon is badly compromised mentally. He's always been a bully who thrived on knowing (thinking) he was the top dog, and now that fantasy has been beaten out of him. Whyte's tasted defeat before, and came back even stronger, so I think he's made of stronger stuff. Wilder's massively delusional though, so it's possible he'll change nothing in his approach, which would still make him dangerous. Stylistically they're both gunslingers with massive vulnerabilities who have lights out power in their shot of choice. If Whyte can establish his jab he can push Wilder on the backfoot, which would take away a lot of his weaponry, but Wilder's very good at jumping on those little lapses all fighters have and Whyte makes these more than most. Whyte would need to make sure he's consistently busting up Wilder and keeping himself alert to the sudden right hand, or else jump on him early and try to knock him spark out with the left. That's dangerous as well. Hard one to judge which I find myself flip flopping on. Previously I went for Whyte, but I can't see him getting the stoppage before he has one of his lapses and gets clocked with a big right. He's just still far too open and hittable.
Wilder wins easily, whyte is taylor made for him. a big, sloppy plodder who relies entirely on getting inside to land his hooks, wilder would have no trouble finding him with the straight and then its over for whyte
