Im sure I posted in a similar thread a couple of weeks ago but no harm in posting again lol

Craig McEwan is looking good. I have heard nothing but good things about young Thomas Costello (fighting on the Macca undercard soon) and Paul Appleby (youngest Scot to win the lonsdale belt)

It's already happening here in Wales, I think it is hoped he can carry the flag after Joe.

So he's gotta pickup where Joe leaves things, and live up to the 'Naz' expectations - no pressure son !!

I cannot stand watching amateur boxing - it is painfully boring.

I watched a 1990's Olympic Champions on ESPN Classic recently - DLH, PBF & Wlad were on. I had to laugh at Jim Neilly stating that so and so Bulgarian was a better boxer than Mayweather :patsch

He won't be fighting anyone decent any time soon then.

    Disagree with that one mate.

I often watch the amatuers round these ways and think there are some great fights! Now, it could be because I know alot of the lads involved so there is an interest for me anyway, but it's very technical and given the short length of the fights you can watch about ten fights in a night!

hes still a prospect at heavyweight. How do you know when he gets hit on the chin he aint gonaa get KO'd. HE can either do well or fail so people still look at him as a heavyweight prospect. He says hes a natural heavyweight so he could have had an a big advantage at cruiserweight. He could be a **** heavyweight and a good cruiserweight. :verysad

but he has KO'd bonin easily, and he was in the top 20 heavys

Perhaps so - the scoring system puts me off, I know the pro version is far from perfect.

If you actually know a few of them it would raise interest. I often go to watch local Thai boxing shows as I know a few. There are a couple of future stars lurking about in Leeds at present, only about 7 or 8 years old but beating the **** out of anyone put in their way - from what I understand they are converting to Queensbury Rules because they do all the damage with their fists.

Our scene is so small that if there were lesser known guys who could really make noise then they would be known here and talked about. However British fans will continue to delude themself that the **** we have are world class when they are in fact domestic/european and contender (at best if guided nicely) status fighters.

Look for quality amature pedigree and you've got a chance of finding a decent fighter i.e. Hatton, Calzaghe, Haye and even Khan now. It helps in trying to find a quality fighter.

From what I've seen of Calzaghes young prospects, Kell Brook and the sorts, we have no real prospects.

I'd maintain that we only really have Khan.

But Khan still has a suspect chin and against a big puncher he will be found out IMO

How is moving up in weight make you a prospect?:huh

So Floyd Mayweather Jr. was a prospect when he moved up to welterweight? Manny Pacquiao was a prospect when he moved up to light welterweight and destroyed Oscar? Evander Holyfield was a prospect when he was the best Cruiserweight in the world and moved up to Heavyweight and destroyed Douglas?

Sorry but that makes no sense what so ever.

kells a decent fighter but not sure if he will cut it at world level though.
billy joe saunders could go along way ...not sure on frankie gavin or degale though one likes the sniff the other likes to party too much .
