He got knocked the F out with 1 punch from a 40 year old Povetkin deserves his title shot screw whyte
I agree. Did he actually ask for a rematch? If so maybe he needs to first take on a couple of guys to get his killer instinct intact. He had Povetkin but couldn't finish him and got blitzed. He needs to learn how to go for the kill and stop pitter pattering like he is a middle weight or something. Things can change in an instant ,as he has learned multiple times, in a heavyweight fight. He should go home and watch this video over and over of a man that was on top, winning the fight but did not finish the job. This loss still haunts him to this day because he knew he ****ed up. Deserve? No. But Povetkin signed a contract that says he does, so it will happen anyway. Unless Povetkin pulls a Fury or a Lennox, and avoids him that way, but that would mean he can't fight and make money, so that's not a smart option.
Nope, but he didn't have a rematch clause and was the "opponent". Pretty sure that if Fury had lost the 2nd Wilder fight, he wouldn't have gotten a rematch either. Golovkin didn't get a 3rd fight against Canelo, with many people see it as he won both or is 1-0-1, and that might or might not happen down the line. A side calls the shots. sad but true.
So true, but as anyone outside of those Isles knows, Whyte is a protected product of Matchroom/Sky corruption and British fans. The British fans could do something about this with a proper backlash against Whyte/Hearn, but instead pretend this never-before-seen situation is absolutely valid. I don't think the phoney moral crusading for this POS has ever been seen in pro sports before either. > Whyte is officially the pet victim of the British boxing community. > The '1000 days' has become mythology to them. One day they'll indoctrinate children with it. All the while, it is common knowledge that Whyte was offered a world title eliminator with Pulev and a world title fight for multiple belts with AJ, showing what manipulative scum these people are. > Every interview with a British boxing character must include a statement supporting the moral crusade to save Whyte from injustice. He's a multi millionaire street thug and the British are crying themselves to sleep about it. > Someone even claimed the fact he knocked up a skank at 11 yrs old or some ridiculous primary school age was hardship imposed upon him. As someone of British blood, the shame of being connected to these people is becoming unbearable. Meanwhile, Povetkin redeemed himself for failing to take out AJ, this time smashing to pieces the second monstrosity of Hearn, literally in Hearn's back yard. Then before our celebrations can even begin, we discover it didn't really count and Whyte just does it over, proving what incredible privileges he receives. The idea Povetkin signed the contract so it's all valid is ridiculous as Hearn calls the shots and dictates terms. Povetkin doesn't get the fight without the clause.
A funny headline from the front page of ESB... https://www.boxing247.com This content is protected Didn't it put him to sleep ?
I think after this fight, Povetkin deserves to finish his career with a titleshot, which will not happen if he loses to Whyte in the rematch. So yeah these rematch clauses are really trash, but they've become part of modern boxing. I am only annoyed because these clauses are kept secret. No word has been said about the rematch clause until the KO. It must be a shame for Eddie that the rematch clause has to be activated.
Get over yourself you moron. As though all of this amount of rambling nonsense is some sort of British trait. If you weren't born here then you aren't British, stop trying to validate what you're saying by claiming Britishness. Your attempts to connect yourself are what is unbearable. The British boxing public is one of the most knowledgeable there is. This is just a Hearn hatefest. I'm hardly a superfan of him myself, but claiming that everybody in Britain is scum and that we all care about Whyte's relatively unfair treatment by the WBC so much is frankly a figment of your imagination. Boring
Of course he deserves one cause Povetkin agreed on contract that had rematch clause. Povetkin got compensated for accepting it
If there were no rematch clauses, Whyte would have spent the last few years fighting no hopers whilst waiting for a title shot. Would you have preferred that?
