Mental that Matchroom’s own in-house world feed commentary is less partisan than an ‘independent’ broadcaster like Sky.
It would be easy to do and I've wished for it for years now but I think they really want to push their propaganda at the audience too much to ever offer that option. They feel a need to feed us their bull**** in a desperate attempt to convince us every card is a premium event and a bargain at £20 (or £25) a shot.
If you see when the camera's are on the commentary team after a knockout, Smith puts his hands out almost to tell his co com to stop talking so he can come out with the scripted cliches "lift of for AJJJJJJ!"
They really need to get Paulie Malinaggi back as a commentator, I think he's absolutely brilliant and gives a very decent and unbiased account of things.
The analysis and punditry is wank aswell. No breakdown of skills or techniques used. You get cliches like “ he just wanted it more” dogsh*t. Needs a proper overhaul to be honest. When you look at the football coverage and the proper analysis after a game it’s night and day,
Adam Smith, Haye, Macklin, Barker and Froch (most fights) all follow the Sly/Matchroom script regardless of what is unfolding. Paulie punted for commentating on what his eyes seen and his experience when reading a fight. Smith had just gave the viewers a 30 second sermon on Pedvetkin's hard career, age, Joshua defeat, legs going, empty tank etc when the bingo punch landed. Before that the praise for Dullian PED Pudding Whyte was relentless in what was looking a 50/50 fight at the time of KO. I would add Macklin is a total disgrace and a puppet for Smith. The whole commentary team needs replaced along with the Glass Bin Lids on face presenter.
His over the top bellowing voice. Talks rubbish, loud and annoying. I wish we could turn the commentary off and only have the sound of punches and corner voices.
Watched Joshua v Whyte before (he’s a casual fan and hadn’t seen it) and the commentary is absolutely top notch. “And the grin has been knocked right off Joshua’s face in this fight”...proper honest impartial assessment throughout.
