If anyone had a doubt about Rushton then I would encourage them to read this article and to watch the end where Copland and the junior cornermen are the one's who show leadership and tell the ref to stop it.

Rushton is a narcissist and very much like a lot of other charlatans in the Martial Arts community. Always deflects when criticism is thrown his way. He's unable to ever own up to any of it - he's never wrong and always justified in any decision he makes!

Yeah man he's one of the worst I've ever seen in boxing. Despite his arrogance I think he must know on some level that Horn is the only serious meal ticket that he'll ever have. That's why he disgracefully tried pushing him out there after round 8 yesterday and not pull Horn out in Zerafa I when he was getting totally mauled. Martial Arts Charlatans like him are extremely dangerous and unfortunately while not as abundant as they were in the pre-Internet era they still exist. That wackjob who trains Diego Sanchez in the UFC is another example, although I will say that Rushton is fairly mild and legitimate in comparison.

Yeah he is a nut job no wonder Joel Camilleri left him after just one fight also Dennis Hogan has left him and no surprise Dundee Kim didn't get along with him considering Kim is an actual boxing guy. His only success is Jeff Horn the only other fighter he has had from the beginning is Ben Horn so that really tells you his level as a trainer.

I don't know much about Rushton but i reckon Jeff Fenech is a hypocrite when it comes to this sort of thing. There has been many occasions Fenech yells at his fighter to keep going when clearly they are cooked.

Horn was clearly toast and didn't want to go on, Should Rushton have continued asking him does he want to go on??? I'm not sure, maybe not. Asking Horny does he want one more minute, Horn said NO! and that was the end of that.

Fenech can be just as much an arrogant C you in the NT.

    But he knows baxxin.

He has been hospitalised, he has hospitalised. He knows the seriousness of what guys are doing in there.

I don't doubt Rushton love's Horn like a son. But this isn't telling your boy to stop crying because he grazed his knee. A competent trainer knows how to read his charges body language, to listen to what he is not saying, not wait till he says it.
Saying he "wasn't badly hurt" or "had no cuts" shows his complete lack of understanding of accumulation in boxing. That is one of the most worrying statements I've heard him say. An experienced trainer wouldn't say that.

Rushton won't change because like has been mentioned his narcissism won't allow him accept criticism.

Fenech is obviously 1 of our best boxers and because of that reputation and his connections,he has for the last 20 years had access to some of the best talent in the country.
His record as a head trainer is terrible, single handily massacring almost every fighter he has ever trained here and abroad, with not much positive to be said about him by those fighters.
Brock Jarvis has a ton of potential and hopefully Fenech can have a positive impact and get best out of him.

Maybe none of the guys he trained possessed anywhere near the skill level his standard of training required, you can only p iss with the c ock you got .just out of interest who was his best charge both talent and commitment wise ? I'd be interested in knowing this and how far he brought them .

I think Jeff Fenech has a decent record as a trainer. He launched the careers of many guys following the 2000 Olympics several of whom went on to achieve plenty, including under him.

He took Vic Darchinyan to his first world title against long-time then undefeated IBF Flyweight champ, Irene Pacheco. That was a great win for Vic & anyone who has ever watched that fight should know that Fenech played a significant role on the night, as well as every other fight in Vic's career up to that point. Vic never lost a fight with Fenech as his trainer. Plenty of others received significant world title shots against top shelf opposition. Hussy Hussein, Skinny Hussein, Glen Kelly, Shannon Taylor & Nader Hamden come to mind.

He also launched the careers of Danny Green (took him to a good WBC interim Super Middleweight title win in Canada before he was DQ'd in Germany for the fully-fledged version of the title in a fight he was winning), Sakio Bika (future WBC Super Middleweight champ), Naofel Ben Rabah (2-time world title challenger) & Daniel Geale (future IBF & WBA Middleweight champ).

I had to like KelandBeave's comment above when I recalled Fenech in the corner during Sakio Bika's fight with John Wayne Parr. Bika came back to the corner during what was a hard-fought contest complaining about an injury. Fenech asked him what was wrong & Bika said that he had injured his hand. Fenech's reply? "You've got another one!" Sakio went on & won the fight.

Obviously but it goes both ways, just look at what Horn achieved despite his obvious limitations and Rushton as a trainer.
Also it would obviously be easier for you to name fighters Fenech had possitive impact,on since as I said the vast majority did nothing under his tutelage and if you speak to some of these fighters as i have, you will find that there isnt much positive to say about him as a trainer

So? What's your point? Fenech is still a way better trainer than the charlatan Rushton who much like his pupil was totally exposed the other day. He's getting torn to bits right now in the boxing community and social media. Reputation is totally ruined. Good riddance.
