We have reached the end. Fury still has many years to go if he stays clean and doesn't balloon up. I feel his resume will take a hit if Wilder fights someone else and loses. He needs a fight with Joshua, which he said isn't happening recently. If not Joshua, Usyk. Let's hope he stays active. Fury's top 5 1. Wlad Klitschko 39 points 2. Wilder 33 points 3. Chisora 24 points 4. Cunningham 15 points 5. Wallin 6 points.
This has been an absolutely fantastic thread @Mendoza . Really enjoyed it. I learned a lot about the resumes of these champions that i previously hadn't thought of. Great stuff. Looking forward to the next thread.
I propose a bonus question. Which fighter gave you the biggest surprise in this thread? Who went up in your estimation, and who went down?
Douglas. His win over Tyson wasn't a fluke and should be viewed near equal to Frazier's win over Ali. His 2,3,4,5 was decent enough.
Fighters who stayed the same in my estimation in terms of their best wins: Ali, Louis, Holyfield, Lewis, Holmes Fighters who went slightly down: Johnson, Bowe Fighters who went up: Douglas for certain, better than i thought. Fighters i learned more about: Sullivan, Hart.
going down or unimpressive--Corbett, Burns, Willard, Tunney (at heavyweight), Johansson, Spinks, Briggs, Vitali going up--Hart, Douglas, Braddock* very impressive--Holyfield more impressive than expected--Sharkey less impressive than one might expect--Holmes, Wlad (although both have terrific depth), Jeffries, Johnson *Braddock--if Tuffy Griffiths is allowed on his list rather than being blacklisted, Braddock's top five is really rather good.
Have you done a complilation or table, so we can look at the results . I missed most of the fun on the way through, bu wouldnt mind an easy catchup.
you can look at the first page, Mendoza edited it so you can see the entire rankings for each fighter.
Thanks. Looking at the list of the 5th plaxce fighter only, is it possible or even likely that the Spinks brothers have the two worst resumes of any lineal heavyweight, ever?
