Spinks. Most people only remember him getting obliterated by Tyson but go back and watch his fights...

Thanks for the clarification. We have our share of spats in here and you'll happen across the odd one. It rarely gets out of control tho and can be quite humorous at times. Plenty of passion in here.

The shot he knocked down Mustafa with, by itself, was shocking. The take out of Johnson was pretty devastating as well, unforgettable.

Always wished he would have fought Saad, though I guess he'd have beaten him it would have been better to watch than the Mustafa for sure.

Ya, i didn't know whether it would get out of hand or not, but just thought that's the kind of thing that's always good to remind people of. I have had a few dandies on here myself, and some of them have gotten nasty! So I wanted to encourage people to sort out their problems with each other privately, since they seemed to be approaching personal territory, but if it can be done and without getting out of hand, by all means...

Hey fair enough Will. I doubt you'll see stuff sorted privately but i know where you are coming from.

I'm not sure you've seen nasty in here yet tho LOL

    Keep lugging mate.

The most shocking aspect was how well he took it. Not just the one shot, either. That jinx alone knocks out 95% of Lt. Heavies in history. The berserker mode that Spinks went into when looking for the finish after Eddie got back up? How does anyone survive that kind of two fisted power punching assault? How does he do it after barely having time to turn the lights back on after the legendary bomb that put him in that position in the first place?

It’s like getting dropped by the left hook that Robinson hit Fullmer with, beating the count, and then getting hit with the barrage that Williams brutalized Jack with. And surviving.

I agree. I wonder if, in this more cautious boxing day and age, that fight would have been stopped.

What is even more impressive is Eddies eye was closed and he didnt see the shot coming.

He had a great chin and recuperative powers.

I would hope not. His legs never went. They might stop it because of the closed eye.

Great post. He had an almost completely closed right eye and water was apparently dripping into his other. Pretty tough gig getting out of that and Spinks showed he carried his punch until the final bell.
