Have to agree. It was shocking. The talking up of Sunny Edward’s opponent was bizarre. He was better than a 10-6 record suggests but they talked him up like he was a gatekeeper to world class. Maxwell vs Hughes was a good fight but Hughes basically has one arm and was still winning rounds.
And this ladies is the name of the game for BT- they must be delighted with those figures. If Joyce can’t happen, Dubois against a reasonable name next might do 1million views on BT. I think the Joyce fight does happen as soon as they can’t get at least 10k in an arena - my guess is Nov or Dec, as long as Covid doesn’t hit us again.
It was pants!!! How can anyone say that was a great watch even if you’re a Frank lover is beyond me. Daniel Anthony Richard Michaels opponent was just pathetic.
Terrible main event- losing Pffefer was a kick in the nuts for us all. There was nothing wrong with the undercard. Maxwell v Hughes was solid, young Adeleye got rid of his man well and Edwards was impressive.
On a side not if I was Joyce and he actually gets to fight Dubios before his pension he should look to employ Fury Wilder 2 tactics. He doesnt have Fury skills but he has the strength and amateur pedigree to force Dubios on the back foot. Be interesting how Dubios would cope with being on backfoot.
Joyce would have to be suicidal to use those tactics against Dubois- certainly at the beginning of the fight anyway. He is far to slow to just run at Daniel- that would be target practise for him.
If these figures are so great then why not put Joyce v Dubois on with no crowd? The viewing figures for Dubois are brilliant so surely that would translate in to the PPV in by far his biggest fight to date.
Because without a gate, you're running at a loss. Dubois-Joyce has shifted a lot of tickets at the O2. They'll only run it without a crowd if we go back into lockdown.
Youre not though are you? with 150k buys you’re making £3mil. That’s before sponsorships, advertisements and anything else. Leaves over a mil a fighter with a mil change.
