Wonder what the plan is next then with no Joyce? More tune ups and get his record to 30-0? Most of the “top” contenders are tied up. There’s Junior Fa high up in the WBO ranks and then there’s free agent Michael Hunter also up there, absolutely no reason to not make that fight. Demsey McKean, never heard of him but he’s top 15 WBO too. Evgeny Romanov? Frank Sanchez? Or the mighty and more likely Tom Schwarz.

Fa has been offered to fight Dubois in the past (I think it was when Dubois fought Tetteh) but Fa's team turned it down.

I think Fa and Parker have verbally agreed to fight each other in NZ. Frank should offer Povetkin serious money to fight Dubois. No chance of it happening but would showcase DDD

Fa's team is demanding more money. They're not necessarily pricing themmselves out, they do however want a massive payday out of it.

I know times are tough, but surely Frank could get someone with a bit if name value for DDD. I am a huge DDD fan and have no doubt that he'll be a world champion one day, but surely he could get someone like Wach or Dimitrenko over. Don't get me wrong, he'd destroy Dimitrenko within 3 rounds, but at least people have sort of heard of him. Wach would also give him rounds as we all know how good his chin is.

Frank managed to get Ustinov, Jennings and Wallisch over for Joyce, surely he could get someone better than Ricardo Snijders for DDD?

Yeah, he needs to put his hands in his pocket and invest. If Dubois is as good as he says he will be paid back 100 fold!

Helenius, Charles Martin, Otto Wallin, Schwartz, Arreola, Rivas, Kabayel all shouldn’t be too expensive then you’ve got Breazeale who might command a little bit more. They’re all top 15 ranked by different organisations so would be a credible opponent and you would expect Dubois to plough through every one of them with relative ease. It’s a gamble worth paying.

Sadly I think there's more chance of him fighting David Adeleye's latest opponent Phil Williams then any of the guys you mentioned. You are right though.

If i were Dubois I'd pass on the Joyce bout and go straight for Domestic Dillian.

Dubois smashes Dillian to bits any day of the week, but I think he's contractually tied up with the Povetkin rematch. And even after Povetkin chins Whyte again, Whyte will remain deludedly convinced that he can still land a shot at Fury or Joshua and that any other fight isn't worth pursuing.

I'm sure there's plenty of fringe top 20 fighters he can feast on again to slowly regain his fantasy title him and Eddie came up with as the most feared avoided HW in history.

Dubois should move to the States.

His style would go down as a storm in America.

I'm not having this , I smell a rat somewhere.

You can't tell me that Daniel 'I've fought no one yet' Dubois v Joe 'I need to get a move on' Joyce needs 20,000 paying people , plus PPV money , plus Int TV rights, plus sponsorship etc to be viable, no way is frank paying them that much.

I think it shows very little confidence in the potential PPV numbers, almost as if they can't take the risk of this not making money, I thought Frank claim to have the biggest TV deal in Europe , this can't be as expensive to put on than the Whyte v Povetkin show which would've made money.

It's all gone very quiet on this fight and something somewhere doesn't add up.

DDD may end up going the same way as Tony Dosh PPV did in New York, fighting Pedvetkin now with a very poor CV to date.

His three opponents since the Gorman fight have been shockingly poor when he needed to have increasingly difficult opponents.

There is a nice variety of puddings out there he should be facing now for his next 2 fights - Chisora, Whyte, Paint Dry Parker, Ortiz, Hughie Fury, Rice Pudding Ruiz Jnr are all better tests for a genuine World Level contender after 15 fights. He needs to face fighters with some ambition where he will develop his skills, face adversity and gain valuable ring experience.

Then he should make the step up to face two of the more dangerous types Bakole, Joyce, Hunter, Wilder before being unleashed on the top of the division - Tony Dosh PPV, Tyson Fury and Usyk.

Frank has a very strange development path for DDD - no hopers then Gorman followed by 3 non hopers then Joyce.

DDD knows he can punch but has learned nothing in his career to date for 12 of his 15 fights.

Can see this falling apart unless his career is better managed to improve his development.

It’s the year 2020 and we have the internet, so the Americans can watch from there.
Dubois is on course to earn a boatload of money in the UK if he is the goods which looks to be the case.
Heavyweight boxing is dead in the US, especially after Wilder’s defeat - the only thing they would be useful for is Vegas if the appropriate fight comes up to host it there.

The contract was written up before the world economy was smashed to bits.
Joyce is on nearly 1m .. maybe more and we can only guess what Dubois is being paid considering he signed a 5 year contract with Warren as part of his package for the fight.

Frank/BT are also hoping to crown Dubois as the next major heavyweight PPV attraction and as part of the package they want a packed O2 (I think they set it out for 16k) in their eyes, to witness him KOing Joyce.

If either of them are on anywhere near £1m for this fight then more fool those who drew up the contract. Fights are still going on with those kinds of purses, offers are still being made for fights with those kinds of purses with the same amount of uncertainty surrounding the economy.

If this fight can't be made with PPV income alone and maybe a 1000 or 2 in attendance then there is trouble ahead.

How many PPV buys do you think this generates ?
