I probably forgot more about boxing than you'll ever know. I never claimed I'd beat a modern champ, I said I'd beat some champion boxers from the turn of the century who's skillset is primitive and very limited compared to a modern boxer, even an amateur.
Yeah the issue with Iron Mike is we all know he got dominated by Douglas, so you didn't have to be an ATG to beat Mike. You had to be as good as Buster Douglas. Every time I get caught up in the Tyson hype, which is probably once a month at least. I re watch the Douglas fight to remind myself of his limitations.
Maybe, that'd anwser why you act like a clueless man. You said you'd beat Marciano, Sharkey and Schmeling. None of them was from the turn of century.
I said I have my chances against Marciano, not that I'd win with ease. Yes, I would beat Sharkey and probably even Schmelling.
I think Tyson is surely high on weed and is just marketing himself to make money just like the nonsense clips of him hitting the pads showcase him as coming back against today's heavyweights ... all dopamine rush, no substance .. notice how the comeback exhibition against Jones keeps getting pushed back ? As far as him vs Johnson and KO 1, I seriously doubt it ... I actually think Johnson had a fair shot of tying him up, taking him onto later rounds, frustrating him and beating him ..
Yeah, those were a unique set of circumstances that were taken advantage of by a fighter with a unique set of physical characteristics.
Tyson landing on Johnson or anyone on Johnson's resume with those small, horse hair gloves=them being unconscious.
I'm agreeing with the premise of your post. If Douglas can beat Tyson, it's perfectly reasonable to assume Johnson can. As for Douglas having unique characteristics, he showed a lack of chin and a lack of heart against Tucker. I wouldnt necessarily class those as required attributes when searching for a Tyson killer.
I'm stronger, faster, hit harder and I'm even more skilled, so given that, saying I'd win is more than reasonable.
I think it's irrelevant whether he'd dominate Johnson in clinches or not. In those small, horse hair gloves, once he starts landing on Johnson chin, it's the beginning of the end.
Sure it's not impossible that Johnson beats Tyson, but In these threads, it's assumed that we're talking about the best versions of each. It's highly improbable that he'd beat prime Tyson.
