He wasn't skinnier, he was legit 200 lbs tank.
Godoy fought 127 fights compared to Marciano's 49.
He was stopped three times - once by Louis (in two tries), once in his second fight (I don't know anything about this fight) and once when he was 37 and it wasn't a clean stoppage, but referee stopped the fight because Godoy tried to steal time.

Godoy had granite chin, he wasn't as good as Marciano but his chin is undeniable. I don't have stats, but I'd bet that Godoy was knocked down less than Marciano too.

Louis is much further from his prime than Marciano. Prime Joe would be too fast and too powerful for Rocky.

He didn't, Louis dominated him and the only thing that kept Godoy so long in this fight is his outstanding durability.

Prime Louis beats prime Marciano because Joe at his best is absolutely the better all round fighter. I think Joe will win. but there is an awful lot of scope and evidence to suggest Marciano could be the hardest type of opponent for prime Louis Who was knocked down by lesser men than Marciano.

But that would only be first time around because Louis worked everyone out, he was a machine. Perfection.

You say Rocky had no skill to speak of and then you list Rocky's skills.

If he hurt Bowe, he wouldn't stop Bowe.

Peak Rocky with his attritional come forward style, solid chin and stamina for 15 rounds is a tough fight even for peak Joe, imo. I might give Joe the edge, in say, a best of three fights over Rocky, but even that's doubtful. Rocky beats Joe at least once in a best of 3 series even in their primes, I would think.

At their best and in their primes, it could be a win, a loss each and a draw.

There is zero sign that he would to be fast or strong but on the contrary much lesser men put down Louis a few times. That’s not an insult to Louis just pointing out the facts.

Oh, really? Old Moore and Walcott put Marciano down. Old Louis shut Marciano down with his jab for a while.

Old Luis did nothing of the sort lol Marciano controlled that fight start to finish even when Louis jab gave him a good round or two it was Marciano doing the real damage. Walcott and Moore were solid hitters and Marciano was “down” for a whopping six seconds total between both knock downs

It's you who brings up the flash KDs. Louis was rarely hurt in his career, tell me when prime Louis was in trouble against pressure fighter. He was stopped only once - against Max Schmeling who was much more refined counter puncher than Marciano.

He was knocked down plenty in his career. He was phenomenal at recovering quickly. As was Marciano. Marciano was a far better puncher and finished then Schmeling. Louis even stated he secretly hates being crowded which Marciano did at will. Prime Marciano had a much more refined left hand later on, much better defense, and was a smarter fighter overall. Obviously you can never count the great Joe Louis out but I think great pressure fighters (small ones at that Tyson and Frazier eg) give joe a Harder time then say giants like Wlad and Lewis.

Louis dominated Galento in quick fashion, flash KD doesn't matter.
