Louis was stopped just twice,in70 fights. Once when he came in overconfident against Schmeling and it took the German a ton of right hands to get the job done,including a big one after the bell from which Joe never recovered. Once when he was an old man 37 years old ,past his sell by date ,and it took Marciano 8 rds to do it.It would be interesting to have seen a 37 years old Marciano taking on a young ,big hitting dangerous contender.

Farr came with both broken hands to fight.Farr is just stand and trade boxer like Norton was and still was able to almost beat Louis.
In a rematch that very much resembled their first meeting joe Louis again defends his World Heavyweight Championship against Arturo Godoy. Again Godoy was beaten bruised and bloody by the champion, but this time Louis was a little more aggressive and by the 7th session he was able to get the upper hand and send his bloody challenger to the canvas after a volley of vicious shots. Joe maintains his advantage in the 8th and his able to drop Godoy two more times, the second of which the ref mercilessly ends the contest and The Brown Bomber successfully defends his World Heavyweight Championship again.

 

If old Schmelling and fat bum Galento could drop Louis Rocky could also keep him down.

Nobody questioned this decision, outside of people who wanted to make a sensation. Farr was a game fighter, but he didn't beat Louis.

He was stopped once by old Schmelling not more fine ouncher than Marciano and one handed!
Schmelling is not refined than Marciano because he didn't have the chin and two handed power!
He was hurt by Godoy in first fight and by bum Galento in second and both were swarmers.
