I think hes got a decent chin tbh, he takes a lot of punches his bigger problem is he has no defence so guys tee off on him, landing punches at will and he gets broken down by accumulation.

 

Sturm beat De La Hoya and was robbed. He then afterwards beat Chudinov, Barker, Sylvester, Castillejo , Murray Macklin, Gevor, Soliman, Zbik.

He has a pretty respectable record even if hes no ATG/HOFer, theres far worse champiobs than Sturm.

 

oscar was never a MW, his only win was against sturm, and there's a certain sense of justice in a paper champ like sturm (who only fought for $$$, a german TV contract, with minimal risk) getting chewed up by a bigger fish, who he only fought for the $$$.

i honestly don't see how you can begin to defend a '5 time world champion' who didn't fight (at MW) martinez, hopkins, winky, pavlik, taylor, paul williams - basically ANY top tier fighter who proved their mettle on the biggest stage of all.
something sturm avoided like the plague.

 

So you cant include Oacar as a good win but can include Williams whose only fight at the weight was getting KOd in 2 rounds. Makes sense.

Think that alone finishes any credibility you had to a debate.

1 fight against a top tier opponent at MW is still one more than sturm ever had.

if you start getting defensive over something as trivial as that, maybe you need a thicker skin?

Williams had one fight where he didnt even last six minutes, saying thats better than Sturms career is idiotic and thats me being nice.

Exactly, Horn obviously has several issues but his heart or his chin was never 1 of them and his ability to overcome the limitations he and his trainer obviously have to win his title against Pacquio is 1 of many reason a lot of us here enjoy the sport
