Not sure what the point of this is? First fight was totally one sided beatdown and not a fight that warrants a rematch(especially considering Nate hasn't done anything since) There are lots of more interesting fights at 170 for Masvidal but I can't blame him for taking such an easy big money fight - I guess this boils down to UFC hoping that the brain dead Diaz fanboy contingency will lap it all up even if no one else has any real interest in seeing it.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk here, but can you imagine the state of Nate Diaz's brain right now? I know the dude has an iron chin, but it's frightening when you consider how many beating this guy has taken, even in the fights that he won.

Remember when Kurt Pellegrino was battering him with ground and pound before getting triangle choked? Or how Ben Henderson just smacked him around, standing above him, for five rounds? Dos Anjos elbowed the crap out of him from the top. McGregor just lanced him with huge punches in both the fight he won and the one he lost. If McGregor didn't have inherent stamina problems, he would have brutally finished him in the second fight; he was was too accurate and countering him too cleanly, and just dropping him all over the place. Then there was the Josh Thompson high kick that even his chin couldn't absorb. I can't imagine Rory suplexing him on his head did him any favors either.

The guy shouldn't even be given a medical license to fight anymore. I know he's always had a speech impediment and has never been the brightest guy, but he's starting to severely slur his words.

    They will.

Soon, the narrative will be pushed that Diaz was just warming up, and the first fight was stopped unfairly.

Diaz has fought like 3 times now in 5 years? He's a dick head, but not an idiot, milking the UFC as best he can

Nate is full of ****. If anyone has legitimate excuses for losing it's McGregor. Dude has no business competing at 170. He's got too much bulk there. At 155 he stops Diaz inside two rounds.

Nate Diva Diaz will be beatdown and embarrassed AGAIN.

Masvidal should be fighting Leon Edwards and Nate Diva Diaz should be fighting a lightweight ranked between 7 - 15.

Masvidal - Conor would have been huge $$$$$ for the UFC but Conor obviously doesn't want any of Masvidal or that fight would have happened by now.

Masvidal - Colby would have also been good but I think Masvidal knows Colby would smother him with workrate and wrestling and beat him.

No hardcore fan wants to watch Masvidal - Diva Diaz again. It's a waste of a fight for both.

The Diaz brothers are a joke. Talk about deluded narcissists, they are journeymen at best but Nate carries on like he is some multi world champion superstar.

Nate has never been a top fighter - look at all of the lopsided defeats he's had to champions and rated fighters. The McGregor fights are moot because Conor was extremely bloated in both fights. at 155 he stops Diaz inside two rounds. The only top win Nate has had against a rated fighter in their division was Cerrone(maybe Michael Johnson as well another extremely flawed fighter who also fought a dumb fight against Nate) - and we all know how hot and cold Cowboy fights. He has/had the tools to beat Diaz but the morons trash talk got to him and he made the unwise decision of fighting his fight instead of making it a kickboxing match which Diaz has never been able to deal with. He has always been a glorified gatekeeper who if given the right stylistic matchup can beat certain top 10 guys, but most especially when they stick to a VERY basic gameplan totally drown him.

Someone made a nice case for why UFC is making this:
First of all, it's a big money fight.
Second, Masvidal probably renogatiated himself a nice new deal with the Usman fight. And UFC don't want him fighting just anyone for that money.
