What has happened to Murat Gassiev?

    He hasn't boxed for over 2 years since his loss against Usyk.

    Went up to heavyweight and was meant to have his debut against Joey Dawejko who at the time had a bit of a buzz due to the rumours going around he knocked Anthony Joshua out in sparring... Nothing since.

    Body's breaking down last I heard, riddled with injury.. was a beast CW but I don't think we'll see much of him again if at all

    Good cruier, good power . maybe his training differently due to his style at heavyweight just my guess

    Hes back in training

    If he gets back in shape injury free he will be a serious problem. None of the others coming through have the pedigree Gassiev has at his age

    There was a new training clip of him posted last week. He’s looking strong. Hopefully he’s back out soon

    Really ? Surprised, he looked to tough to get injured lol. That’s a wounder, he was a beast. Usyk just had to much movement for Gassiev to do anything with, made him look terrible really, when in actual fact he was a monster

    Gassiev is a terrifying opponent for fighters with average to less movement(in any and all areas), fighters that come forward to him and throw first, and taller/longer fighters that cannot for the life of them judge and maintain preferred distance. So if he ever comes back, in shape, and returns to pre-Usyk form then he is going to be a ****ing load for a lot of heavy's. That said - the best, most talented, most skilled guys in the HW division certainly do have their weaknesses like anyone else, but they have rarely any if any that would make a fight against Gassiev worrisome.

    AJ, Fury, Wilder - all at this point and even with an in-shape/prime Gassiev, drive his head clean off with a 9-iron.

    Agreed. However imagine 5 years down the line. Fury will be 37, AJ 36, Wilder pushing 40. Gassiev should be in his physical prime at 31. Its easy to forget how young he is
