Nearly finalized, per the grapevine. Would be main event of a Top Rank show in Las Vegas on November 14th. Crawford would be making a fourth defense of his WBO title at 147lbs.

Can the sport's smoothest switch-hitter (and perhaps its number one welterweight, at worst #2) handle some slightly stale Chocolate Brownies™? :ggg

Brook will have fought only thrice in 3½ years since losing to the other candidate for 'the man' at welter, Errol Spence Jr., during which he was competitive but, according to some observers, already exhibiting signs of ill effect from age and the cut in weight. A fourteen month layoff preceded his last bout, a KO7 victory over Mark DeLuca.

Surprisingly, they have zero common opponents. Maybe not that surprisingly, actually, considering they've been adjacent to but on either opposite side of this weight class for most of their careers (with Crawford having stints at lightweight and 140, and Zeke having been more of a lifelong junior middle with stints at 160)

Crawfords welterweight run has been pretty weak thus far. a past it Brook will probably still be his best fight there by a considerable margin.

Bud and his trainer talked heavy smack about Kell and now they finally sign on to fight the man. This is the type of stuff that's gonna put boxing in a casket in the main stream after the pandemic. I don't think anyone even misses the sport outside of the hardcore fans.

Because Amir "The Chin" Khan refuses to face Brook for any amount of money.

If Kell can make 147 comfortably, which I doubt he can, then this will be the most competitive match of Bud's career, and it's very winnable for The Special K One. Bud better not try that southpaw **** with Kell either, Kell, with the exception of Spence, who he was outboxing comfortably before his eye got injured, has always done very well against southpaws, it's one of his specialties. So that ramrod straight right of his might be finding its mark with regularity, and if Kavaliauskas can take a few rounds and hurt Bud, Kell definitely can..

Brook vs. Khan will be a welcome co-feature to Ricky Hatton vs. Junior Witter.

Yeah. But at least Spence has Porter as well. I think it's safe to say that the version of Brook that Spence fought is better than the one that Crawford is potentially going to square off with.

    :deal:

I'd be rooting for Brook, anxiously, with very slim expectations of him pulling it off but the knowledge that he does stand just enough of a chance to make it exciting.

I've actually forgotten the DeLuca match already; did he look to have been slipping?

Brook is so shot he didn't even fight in 2019 & he hasn't been a WW for 3 years has he? He's also had his skull crushed twice.. should he be fighting a top 3 P4P fighter at 34 with all his inactivity & cranial damage? Is he even ranked at WW?

Can't really make much of a read there man. It was completely one sided but that's not saying a whole lot considering the opponent. But I think it's safe to say that while still looking competent that yeah.. Overall Brook has shown some slippage at 154.
