I didn't say it would happen, I just said it would be an upset if it did.

I will break out the big guns if this thread is on page 1 come Tuesday lol.

you have encouraged and inspired me, so I may even do it sooner...just not sure if everyone is ready for Pavlik over Monzon and stuff like that lol

Totally agree with Hopkins over Monzon and Hagler. To be fair none of them would be favored by much over the other (all three) via the cold hard emotionless betting lines. Very close fights, any of them.

He'd be solidly favored over Graziano and i'd take him over the rest as well i reckon. Lamotta might be the toughest match?

I agree. I just love Joey's versatility. The guy was tough as nails but smart too. He wouldn't stay in the trenches with Lamotta. He would use his legs.

I did a thread on this topic a few months back.

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/your-craziest-hypothetical-upset-pick-s.641798/

TBH I believe just as in real life there have been several upsets or surprising outcomes that went against the conventional wisdom of the day. And that in these hypotheticals there are upsets and surprising outcomes that many of us will not see the wisdom of....

I know that no one beats Ali, SRR or Duran 99% off he time they come up in a fight...but if you were attacking them head on what skills and style would you look for, what fighter would fit that style to topple the greats.

Great fighter. I reckon you meant "wouldn't". He'd move for sure but Lamotta would heap pressure on him. Wouldn't be a lot between them i reckon. I could see joey winning on his best form.

On another note how errily similar do Giardello and Jon Bernthal look? Hard looking Martha Fockers.

It was obvious what you meant mate just hollered so you could fix it as there's always someone that will not be able to read between the lines lol.

Whilst agree with all of your picks, I think that Giardello's biggest weakness was that he liked to brawl. He seemed, to me at least, to have the Holyfield/Morales syndrome where he'd just get into a tear up to entertain. I think he'd give in at some point.

I agree. Sometimes he made things harder on himself than he needed to.

Isn't that why he's so engaging though? That and he's a real character out of the ring too. How'd you think a fight between Kalambay and Giardello would go down mate?

Isn't disagreeing the fun part, ol' Locksy? But I can't believe you think Canelo beats Valdez. :naughty2:
