No, Huck was just as capable of launching a crazy barrage of punches your way. He might have lacked the power of Haye but he was more unpredictable and wild which put him in a similar category of dangerman. Gassiev has some lethal shots that he can pull out of nowhere, and he's a lot more controlled than Haye so you're less likely to see the punches coming. Haye was a bit like Wilder in that he'd launch big wild swings out of a wide stance, which coud catch slower or less skilled guys out (the majority of Haye's competition at CW) but wouldn't necessarily cut the mustard against the upper echelon. Haye was like a cross between Jean Pascal and Deontay Wilder in that he had the ambush style of the former with the P4P power of the latter. He was a pretty unpredictable and explosive CW which made him dangerous, but he also fought a bunch of munchkins that made him look better than he probably was, much like Wilder.
Agree. I've never seen such a cocktail of lethal punchers, boxers, boxer-punchers in a division for a long time.
And none of them British or American, actually Hunter, but he was dominated by usyk I suppose, so we have a lot to thank the EE fellas for it seems, straight forward match making no swerves
Tabiti is pretty good too, and he's 'murican. But yeah - Gassiev, Briedis, Usyk, Dorrticos, Glowacki, Huck, Kudryashov, Mchunu, Perez ... the list goes on. Mind you, Bellew is Brit, so there's that.
Patterson was several classes above Haye when it comes to pure skills, but obviously much smaller with less power.
I'd say he has a case... Crazy fast and a banger... There are certain people you probably wouldn't be in a mad rush to fight at cruiser throughout history and he'd be on the list... Especially if your not an iron chinned warrior....holyfield was better obviously but did he hit as hard at cruiser.. I can't remember. Off topic Haye vs usyk is a good cruiserweight fantasy fight... But then I don't rate usyk as high as others do.... Id probably pick Haye over him.. Dont get me wrong I love usyks go anywhere fight anyone attitude and he's obviously very skilled but Haye gets underrated nowadays
Neither guy had the lightning fast two handed power he had. Overall superior fighter doesn't mean superior offensive ability.
