There’s rumbles that Fabio Wardley is willing to defend his English title against Dave Allen on the Povetkin v Whyte 2 undercard in November. Great step up fight for Fab and equally an opportunity for Allen to try and rebuild after the Price beating.

Them 2 are around the same level for me, would be a fun fight. Wouldn’t be shocked if Allen chinned him.

    Make it happen I say.

I know Allen gets a lot of stick for taking fights at short notice and getting his head battered but those have been against the likes of Ortiz and yoka who are proven. but I believe english/British level is where he should sit quite comfortably at and would be happy to see him be a gatekeeper at that level.

I can definitely see him beating the likes or wardley, little, Gorman

Good fight for both of them.

Step up for Wardley and chance for Allen to win the English and if he does push on towards British.

it’s a close fight. And it’s not as if Gorman has done anything since his loss to Dubois

    could go either way imo

This is good matchmaking and is a competitive fight.

Wardley is never going to be anywhere near European or world level, and nor is Dave. But both are decent at domestic level.

To the other poster who claims that Allen beat Gorman. Gorman easily beats Allen.

Gorman may beat Allen. He may not. He's being strangely overrated on forums, I wonder why.....

    that’s me!

As I said before Gorman has done nothing since getting beat by Dubois so who knows where he’s at right now. We know all about Allen who has been in with far better competition compared

    I like this fight a lot !

Wardley looked sharp in his last outing against Vallilly, you can see improvements are being made for sure and whilst I would expect him to look just as sharp early doors against Allen there is a gulf in experience level and also punch power that Allen has come up against..... so would Allen catch up with him later on? Particularly now as he does seem to be looking after himself and ticking over fitness wise.

Allen has one of the best if not arguably the best chin in British boxing at current.... as Peter Fury said "you need a baseball bat to put Dave Allen on his arse" and Wardley isn't a big heavyweight. It wouldn't surprise me if Allen was able to soak it up early, Wardley faded and Allen got to him late on.

At only 25 and 6’6”, Fab is definitely improving and has been to the Ukraine to spar with Usyk, he’s also sparred rounds with Tyson Fury, Hrgovic, Joyce, Gorman and Whyte to name a few. He’s gained some good experience in the gym. Certainly more of a natural athlete than Allen.

    Good fight for both.
Step up for Wardley and a step back for Allen, but its just what he needs.
I think Wardley wins a close decision, Dave has a good chin so I carnt see him being stopped but the winner then should be looking at the British.
I for one would be really happy if this got made.

I would rate Gorman way above Allen because of the wins I saw him get prior to the Dubois fight. It suggested he was a possible European level HW. Who knows where he is now though? Even with the ring rust though, he must be able to beat someone like Allen.

What is Allen's best win? Nick Webb and that is about it.. ...Meanwhile Gorman has 3 decent wins in Johnson, Cojanu and Turner.
