I'm selling my shares. I used to like the way he moved. White chocolate, smooth, now he has lost that sparkle in his eye. Did he get banged in sparring? Something is not going right in camp. Why are they going down from fighting Molina???
He has the Michael Moorer thing going where he looks like he is just mentally somewhere else when he is fighting. And his power is oversold. Since the rest of the prospects aren't very good either, I am hoping that he is just bored and will fight to the level of competition, but he has not impressed me yet.
Looks Pulev level to me, which is fairly respectable. I think he might just fall short against the very top, if he's put under pressure against the more durable foes.
Its called covid-19 has made it very hard to make fights. Boxing needs a live gate at the lower level to make fights happen. Prospects just don't face each other often enough. If you pay attention to what his past opponents say, he's the real deal Duhaupas: https://www.*******.com/duhaupas-filip-hrgovic-ko-povetkin-jarrell-miller--144677 https://www.heavyweightboxing.com/post/johann-duhaupas-compares-filip-hrgovic-to-vitali-klitschko Tom Little says he's the real deal. Hrgovic dominates name pro's in sparring. He's battle tested in the world series of boxing and was robbed in Rio in his match with Yoka, otherwise he wins gold. IMO, he's got the best chin of the prospects, proven as he was never down or out. His size and reach are at the top, and he can bang. Good overall skills, including a hook to the body All he needs is a good opponent, and I think he can win a belt right now. It would be best if he can get 2-4 fights under his belt, but if I'm his manager I'm calling Fury out. No way that guy could take his punches. Hrgovic's accuracy by the wya is impressive, Fury would not be fighting a Wallin like opponent.
More durable foes? Not one of the top 3 heavies is durable. Hrgovic hits harder than Povektin or Ruiz who had Joshua in trouble and out. Hrgovic hits harder than Fury who easily dispatched Wilder. Fury was hurt by an older cruiser weight. He's carrying some glass, you'll see. Usyk, I think is pretty durable, but he's too small and doesn't hit that hard. Hrgovic is a good boxer.
His next opponent last fought in April 2014 and was knocked out by David Price in that fight ! This content is protected It's crazy that Hrgovic is lined up to fight him.
This is Bizarre !!! I'm quite disturbed by this, he has a domestic rivalry that would pack a domestic stadium to the rafters! Tom Little lol!!!
Sell, buy back later...perhaps. Long term potential, but at the moment an investment in him isn't going to pay back, and if anything his price will drop as he goes through the "Eddie Hearn is bored of his toy" perodo of his career. Could be 2 or 3 years before you want to buy back in at a reduced price.
I'd hold onto my shares for now with an eye to selling in the near future if they don't pick up. Not really sold on this guy despite all the accolades and sparring stories. He just doesn't look that impressive in the ring or even look like he can be bothered. No real desire to impress, which at this stage is quite important. For my money the Twitch Hitter is a better prospect, though he's getting up in years now.
Years ago your favorite point had some relevance. Now it's taken on a life of its own. You won't find many active heavyweights who fought better in their first 10 fights. So by the stands of prospects he's fighting quality opponents. If you did any research, you'd know he fought many punches and was hit flush by guys who can bang. Hrgovic was never down, nor was he ever stopped which is unique among heavyweight prospects. That Mr. Zakman is the sign of a good chin, not a suspect one. T0 help you out a bit more, Hrgovic has 60 amateur fights listed at Box rec. He has more than that but let's use the sample. He has fought Joyce ( at age 20 when Joyce was 27 ), Nistor ( It was a war ) Kuzmin, Yoka, Cammarelle, and Dychko to mane a few. All of these guys can punch, and landed. He wasn't floored, hurt, stunned, nor did he need to clinch to get his legs back. This shows an excellent chin. Still not convinced? As an amateur he boxed with Wilder, and took his right hand clean without any issues. ( Its on you tube ) He had no issue with Haye, and cut him to the point where he had to pull out of the fight. Wlad while prepping for Fury, had Hrgovic in his camp as an amateur and he held his own.
Not disagreeing that it's a **** fight. But I guess Pala has been active in the amateur ranks recently and is still in shape so it's slightly less. At the very least it's not as if the guy got up off the sofa for it.
Buy. Since the shares have lowered considerably due to the skepticism regarding his recent opposition. Hrgovic will prove the doubters wrong.
