Well... I guess Canelo is a former Light Heavyweight champion, so expecting him to fight at that weight isn't too much too ask
Beterbiev is 35 going to 36, Canelo can beat him and the endless excuses would begin, not worth it imo.
How so?. He brings the crowds, sells the PPVs and gives other fighters major paydays and exposure too. He deserves everything he's paid regardless of conflict with DAZN and Golden Boy.
Lol, you make it sound like Canelo was adamant on fighting Avni and is now going to curt because of it. That was a fight that was looked into after BJS and Smith ducked him. And it was just one of the fights on the table. Ryder was talked about but seems like DAZN wasn´t willing to pay their guarantee. Regardless, Canelo was supposed to fight and DAZN aren´t willing to pay for any of the available fights. So Canelo took action.
I'm curious about the wording in the contract, If It's specified that he gets 35 million provided that he fights a DAZN approved opponent or a fellow DAZN fighter. If DAZN is refusing to pay him that amount regardless of who he fights, Canelo definetly has a case here. But with his sueing of GBP, I don't think he has any leg to stand on. You can't just expect your promoter to get you out of a huge contract and arrange a fight on a different network just because you're having disagreements with the current broadcaster. I think It's just the sour grapes of GBP promising DAZN the 3rd GGG fight without consulting with him.
They can get him fights. Plenty of people are queuing up to fight Canelo. They just don't want to be short changed especially if Canelo is being paid $35,000,000 and isn't doing any promotional legwork in English speaking countries. They also don't want to be stiffed on rehydration clauses, WBC politics, judges, NSAC games and other political protection that Canelo gets. Just make it fair(er).
This has been discussed to death, Beterbiev would take Canelos soul, he would beat the prime out of him. Canelo would be stupid to make that fight.
Reason why he gets linked to Beterbiev is because he wona belt in the same division. Beterbiev hasnt attempted heavyweight so no reason to assume he can fight Fury.
