Is this another BS publicity stunt from Clenelo? they always do this when Clenelo has a fight coming up.There's some scandal or whatever with Oskie and they miraculously make up and make the fight happen.

He wanted to fight Yildrim. Get outta here with any 'p4p king' and 'I'm not afraid of anybody' crap.

That said, COV-ID may help DAZN out here because otherwise, I don't see how they get out of something where they signed the dotted line.

It's by far the overwhelming factor. Just as long as DAZN make money on a canelo fight they dont care who he fights. Now the gate isn't there, economic downturn, etc they believe that only premier opponents will bring in enough ppv to cover some costs.

Ggg trilogy is definitely a factor. I dont understand why canelo is avoiding the fight because, without bias, GGG is not the same fighter from the first match. With the Las vegas bias I cant see him losing unless he gets ko'd and hes already taken GGG's best.

He seems as if hes gone mad with power and believes his own bull****.

Im a canelo fan but he needs to realize this is the new normal right now. He will not get those mega paydays when people cant attend live boxing. I can understand why he's pissed but he needs to lower his expectations.

Covid is a very big factor that led to this on top of the fallout from HBO closing their boxing doors. DAZN's business model was shaky to begin with but Covid only strained it further with less boxing events and events with no fans. Many boxers seem to be waiting until the Covid situation ends and fans can return before making big matches.

You look at what's going on in college football with some conferences cancelling their season and some schools in those conferences like the Big 10 suing the conferences for not letting them play. Canelo is in the prime of his life, he just wants to fight and DAZN isn't letting him. I think this has more to do with the DAZN not approving his WBC title shot than the $$. Some Canelo haters do have a point that his contract with the DAZN gave him too much guaranteed $$. Many of us have been saying this, but who's fault is that? GBP for making the deal with DAZN or Canelo who just wants to fight. Also GGG has a big contract with them as well. We wouldn't be in this situation he if he still putting on PPVs with HBO or occasionally fighting on regular HBO.

What does this have anything to do with the contract between DAZN and Canelo?

No doubt, but unless it stipulates that DAZN can choose Canelo’s opponents, I’m struggling to see where their claim will be. It’s my understanding that both Smith and Saunders are unsuitable opponents according to DAZN. Both are champions. What makes an opponent unsuitable? How do they measure that? And how is that stipulated in a contract?

I was responding to what seemed to allude to the idea that it's shameful for a top p4p fighter to take an easy fight when every single one of them does
