Although Spinks is a boxer as well as a puncher, this if Ken's fight to win. I don't think Spinks has the power to knock Norton out, although his power would bother him more than even Ali. Let's keep in mind that Spinks only has four wins-three were over ancient legends, and one of them controversial at that, and the other was over Tangstad. Although capable of beating heavyweights, Spinks' heavyweight record would not indicate a victory over prime Norton, not including the fact that Norton has a stylistic advantage. In addition to that, Larry arguably beat Spinks in the second fight, and if Larry, clearly past his prime could beat Spinks, prime Norton certainly could. Just the same, I have Norton winning by an SD. Terrific match. Norton goes hunting, and Michael's not going to hide. A glory battle.

Norton will pressure Spinks for a decision. If Spinks is barely going to squeak by an aging Holmes, i can't see him beating a quality hw like Norton who will pressure him from the get go.

Unless you hit like King Kong, you won't keep Norton off you. Yes, Spinks hit like King Kong at 175 but not at heavyweight.

    Norton UD 15

Norton has Spinks on the ropes and fighting desperate for much of the fight.
    Norton by decision.

Yeah I have the same thoughts. Norton via MD. And I don't mean medical doctor.

Do you really think Michael Spinks hit harder than Muhammad Ali?

not necessarily; I was saying that Ali was a boxer. Spinks was a boxer-puncher.

Spinks in my opinion is the heavyweight with the greatest ring IQ and Norton was someone who came forward but would jab his way in aggressively and he would take away your jab whilst doing so, I think Norton has all the tools to trouble Spinks, he has the size and strength and the style, but Spinks has the quality and is undoubtedly better in terms of achievements and better as a boxer, I go back and forth with this, people think this is an easy win for Norton, but I don’t see it that way, just because he did well against movers and jabbers it doesn’t mean he is invincible against all of them, Spinks is faster on his feet and with his hand and would probably tie Norton up when he got in, Spinks fought and beat Qawi who was good at taking away the jab, I think Spinks edges it on a decision because of his ring IQ and has more tricks in the bag

I believe that the Ken Norton vs Michael Spinks heavyweight encounter would look like the Ken Norton vs Jimmy Young 1977 bout. Michael was a very dominant Light heavyweight champion much like Bob Foster, Matthew Saad Muhammad, and Archie Moore were with longevity on their side. Spinks was very dangerous, especially with the Spinks Jinx. But h did catch Larry Holmes on Sept 21 1985 at the very ebd of a great career. Michael like Young would box Norton, but would not possess the punch at heavyweight to threaten Ken, whose vulnerabilities were against big punchers, George Foreman and Earnie Shavers. I see Michel Jabbing connecting with swift counters. Ken would stalk, blocking punches with his cross armed crab like defense. Boy Norton's body punching would be the winning difference in this match, Norton by split decision.

I went with Norton via decision. Wrong type of fight for Michael Spinks
