Anyone else agree that Usyk has the best resume of this era?

Fantastic resume only blemished by the fact that there is no indisputable "great" on it, but who knows what Gassiev and maybe Briedis (despite age) will go on to do.

None of these puny cruiserweights have went on to win a title at heavyweight. Usyk will be dealt with as soon as he feels the true punching power of these huge behemoths.

He’ll get hurt if he ever takes a flush shot from a powerful heavyweight like Joshua or Wilder.

“The power he has shown me in the gym sparring against [heavyweights Dominic] Breazeale, Charles Martin, Gerald Washington, Chris Arreola, is very real,” Sanchez said. “All those guys, he’s been able to dominate and hurt. Once we get him to the heavyweight division and stabilize him at 225, 230, and put some muscle on those pounds, he’ll be very effective.''

    -- Abel Sanchez

Which HW's ribs did Gassiev break in sparring?

''Ask any given sparring partner who’s been in there with him and they will tell you he’s a small heavyweight who fights like a big heavyweight.

“Murat Gassiev – that motherbeeeper hits hard,” heavyweight contender Chris Arreola said of his experience while training with the Russian banger in Big Bear, California.

The two worked in the same gym space for their recent training camps. Arreola was preparing for his December 12 showdown with Travis Kauffman, a fight he won by split decision. The final outcome was disputed, but Arreola’s energy at fight’s end was attributed to the work he put in during his time in Big Bear, also crediting Gassiev as one of the fighters who pushed him in the gym.

“He caught me in the ribs during one sparring session, I just never been hit like that before,” Arreola admitted. “This was a camp I was already determined to leave as a trim and ready fighter, but I knew I couldn’t half-ass it when he was there. Whenever I saw him in the gym when I arrived, I was like “Beep, not that guy again.” But he makes you work in the gym, he makes you a better fighter.”

'Here is another endorsement. World-class cruiserweight Ola Afolabi (who has sparred both Wlad and Vitali among other HWs) proclaimed that Gassiev is a certified assassin. “Probably the hardest puncher I’ve ever been in with,” said Afolabi, a pro since 2002 and a three-time cruiserweight title challenger ranked No. 10 by THE RING.'

Sparring isn’t the same as fighting. Anyway you’d have to be insane to think Gassiev hits harder than Joshua, Wilder or Wlad. He has a lower KO % against 200 lb men than they all do against men a lot bigger.

One of the better ones for sure..... He also traveled for most of the higher level fights, won them all clearly.... Making it even more impressive.

Before Charr/Briedis the concept of "CW level" was not known to the majority of even the most astute boxing intellectuals. This crushing and humiliating defeat really shook things up in Liechtenstein.

Yes, they wear pillows and head gear when they go at it in the gym

Arreola says the hardest he's ever been hit in an actual fight was by Vitali Klitschko,

“The hardest punch I was ever hit with by far was against Vitali Klitschko,” said Arreola, who was stopped in 10 rounds by the Ukrainian in 2009. “It felt like the guy was trying punch through my body.

    This isn't sparring

Vitali couldn't do that to Charr and your boy AJ has never done that to anyone

Gassiev only had 25 amateur fights at domestic level and four of his seven wins that went the distance were only four and six rounders and he stopped one of those guys who took him the distance the following year in a rematch.

Ismail Abdoul took him the full 12 but he's only been stopped once in 99 outings despite the fact that he's fought everyone and their donkey and even then that was in the 12th against a noted puncher.

Gassiev is 10-1-1 (9 KOs) 1 no contest which would've likely ended in another KO win for him) in his last 13 fights with only the teak-tough Lebedev taking him the distance out of all his wins. His KO% is deceptive

Lomachenko? His resume is outstanding for someone with only 15 pro fights.

I'm never gonna think he hits harder than any of the guys i mentioned earlier until he proves it. Also AJ would put Charr to sleep as well if he caight him with the same left hook he caught Povetkin with. AJ sent Whyte into another dimension with the uppercut. AJ has more power than those cruiserweights you're mentioning.

AJ has never put anyone to sleep. He couldn't even put Eric ''Eggshell'' Molina to sleep so no way in hell he's doing so to Diamond Boy. He might have sent an already hurt Whyte into another dimension but CW Level Briedis sent Charr to the Shadow Realm out cold on his face.

For active, prime fighters, yes, Usyk is a good shout.

For active fighters period - Pacquiao, Donaire and Gonzalez.

Absolutely no way Briedis hits harder than Joshua or Vitali.
