Liston does have the better jab, but I think Foreman is a better technical boxer in terms of setting traps and tricks up his sleeve and also whilst Foreman didn’t have head movement, he more than made up for it with his hand defences, which more often than not, get overlooked, Foreman was very smart with his defence, he would hit Frazier with a jab cross then put his arms on Frazier shoulders to push him away to make sure he’s out of range when Frazier throws his left hook, Foreman was very good with those arm and hand defences, he would also put his arms on their shoulders and pull them to the side and go around the to throw off their balance, he could also counter off of those hand defences, I don’t think Sonny Liston did those things

George really did come up with a great strategy to pretty much nullify Joe's attack.

But Sonny was taller, overall stronger, boxed at least as well, and used the jab a LOT. I don't think George could walk through that jab...that's forgetting the fact that he was deeply intimidated by Sonny, has admitted so dozens of times.

Although I think Foreman is the harder puncher I think Liston’s superior boxing skills, slightly superior jab and better stamina would see him overcome an early onslaught and take Foreman out late. But I’m struggling to think of a heavyweight fantasy fight I’d rather see In terms of the potential for a war

Great post but Liston was not taller. Foreman had at least a good 2 inches on him.

Liston TKO 7-8. Tighter technically and his shorter sharper punches find the mark first often enough to give him the edge. Amazing match up.

I meant Sonny was taller than Frazier, my friend.
