    Lyle was a more effective stalker than Mercer, and would be busier, thus meriting the SD I gave him. Just the same, it's very close, spectacular fight.

    Real hard fight for both! Both throwing punches that should kill an ordinary man!
    Lyle hits the ground and shock horror so could Mercer.
    But both men somehow manage to get to the last round..
    Winner by split decision.. RON LYLE!!

    Lyle gets a little bit overrated based on the all-time thriller against a comebacking Foreman. He never really looked that awesome otherwise. Mercer at his best would be too consistent and grind him down. Great scrap though!

    Both great punchers, but Mercer is more skilled IMO
    Lyle had incredible power and could take big punches, so I don't think Mercer KOs him.
    But he'll probably win on points in an exciting fight.

    Lyle took flush shots of Morrison, Lewis and Wlad and didn't go down. Holyfield got him with a body shot. Unless Lyle hits Mercer with a good body shot, I don't see him knocking Mercer down.
