GGG lands a peach of an uppercut as Hopkins is lunging in for a tactical accidental headbutt. Hopkins gets back up, survives the round. Bernard works some nice lead right hands through leaky defense. Golovkin is totally unfazed by his punching power. Hopkins realizes he's not going to win in round 9, initiates a clinch, trips himself over Gennady's foot, and pretends to have dislocated his knee.

    Fight ruled NC

Golovkin for me. He's shown nothing but class throughout his career and Hopkins had some iffy outings. Hopkins likes the ol hit n hold and a great jab is the antidote to that. Golovkin has a great jab.

Hopkins by UD in a one-sided joke fight. Only true nutcases would think Golovkin can stop Hopkins.

GGG is great, but Hopkins puts on a clinic.
The Executioner by a decisive UD.

    Joke fight?
The only joke pertaining to this thread is the pedestal the overrated punk Hopkins sits on.
William Joppy and Blown up welterweights doesn't give you the status Bernard seems to have.
GGG was avoided like the plague as a destroyer at 160. A blown up Trinidad he is not.
Prime GGG ****s up Hopkins bad.

If Sergey Kovalev couldn't KO a 49 year old Bernard Hopkins then GGG is not going to KO a prime Bernard Hopkins either.

Furthermore, Hopkins resume is way better than GGG. Hopkins is much more proven.

    Logical choice is Hopkins UD.

    Absolutely mate.

It's easy to write off the Tito fight as Tito being an old welterweight, but that's being very dishonest. Tito was the large favourite, a champion at middleweight coming off a fantastic performance and was P4P #1. Hopkins beating Wright, Pavlik, Johnson, Tarver and Pascal is certainly more impressive than GGG's resume. B-Hop went 12 with Kovalev whilst literally middle-aged, and he also tooled a prime Antonio Tarver. GGG isn't banging him out.

Hopkins from the mid-90s was a different breed. One of the best and most complete middleweights ever. He could box on the outside, making full use of his ridiculous 6'1 frame. He could spoil like **** and completely slow the pace to absolutely nothing. He'd often swarm guys in his prime, as his conditioning was insane. He literally threw 100 punches in the late rounds at 9000ft altitude in 100° degree heat. He's shown an ATG chin throughout his career and good enough pop to GGG honest (certainly better power than Canelo's). All of his insane physical feats on top of the near perfect fundamentals and great defence he had. He also took huge punches off a great, great puncher in Roy Jones.

Hopkins can out-work GGG, he can out-jab and out-box GGG, he can fight GGG in the pocket with counters and rolls.

Hopkins wins on points. He's too complete and too good.

Hopkins will get the majority of votes here and he was a superb fighter but I'd see GGG beating him.

If a blown up Light Middleweight beat Golovkin, then Hopkins would beat the living hell out of him in an embarrassing one-sided fight. Hopkins is a proven legend, he certainly didn't become famous hyping his self on twitter while picking on bums and tomato cans like Golovkin did. Additionally, Hopkins is proven all the way to Light Heavyweight. Golovkin's biggest win to date is Kell Brook, a Welterweight. Even stylistically, Golovkin is tailor made for Hopkins who literally feasts on one-dimensional plodders. That's why Hopkins was able to fight competitively all the way to 50 years of age, because of his style. Golovkin almost lost to a fighter with 14 professional fights in his last showing. I figured Golovkin and his team recruited fans from the gutters of social media, but damn, you are pure comedy.
