Cleveland Williams 1960 vs Carl The Truth Williams 1985. Who wins the Battle Of The Williams? Would Carl jab him silly? or would the Big Cat pounce on him?

Carl outboxes him and wins by a clear decision

I think Carl annihilates Cleveland who bravely keeps on getting up until it is stopped.

With all due respect, do you think that Carl hits as hard as Sonny Liston? to stop Big Cat. Sonny did it twice.

Carl Williams was very vulnerable to the left hook. What do you all think was the Big Cat's best punch?

Excellent point. Williams was very vulnerable to left hooks, and had a china chin, not a good combo against The Big Cat who was one of the hardest punchers of all time. Carl goes about the same way he did against Weaver.

lol who did Carl ever "annihilate" of note? He has very few noteworthy wins (even less noteworthy KOs if any) let alone annihilation.

I don’t think carl had to hit as hard as Sonny Liston to deck Cleveland. Muhammad Ali didn’t. I know this came after the shooting that Cleveland’s fans say show that he was never the same, well how did he manage to survive a thrilling fight with strong man George Chuvalo many years later and win the Texas state title against Terry Daniels in his last years?

Carl the Truth Williams hit plenty hard enough to hurt and deck good heavyweights.

Did you ever watch Carl Williams vs Rodney Frazier?

Did you ever think Rodney Frazier was any good? Seriously, this is just a bad matchup for Carl. Carl is the more skillful, but Cleve would be zeroing in on that chin and he would find it.

I would pick Carl to outbox Cleveland utterly. Except, Carl had a habit of being hit with left hooks. Not a great habit to have vs a puncher like Cleveland. Either Carl outboxes him to a UD or Cleveland stops him in the early rounds. Carl was stopped by Mike Weaver whom I consider roughly equivalent to Cleveland Williams. So this is a winnable fight for Cleveland.

I imagine that this would take the pattern of several Carl Williams fights. He will come out using that long popping jab and right hand. Before long he will hurt Cleveland and put him on the ropes.

Then Carl will get excited trying for the finish and get his right hand down by his hip...and get cracked with a left hook that will change the course of the fight.
