Pacquiao had a bunch of catch weights in top of that he had robberies, but I guess you are ok with that?

Is it? I don't value Leonard's win over Lalonde at all, because of the catchweight. He didn't do it to duck fighters though.
No I'm not. But he has elite wins that aren't tainted. Canelo doesn't.

Eh. While Pac had his share of diva antics in the latter part of his career, he first became flyweight champion at the full flyweight limit, became a super bantamweight champion at full super bantamweight limit, became a featherweight champion at full featherweight limit, became a super featherweight champion at full super featherweight limit, won his lightweight title at full lightweight limit, became a super lightweight champion at full superlightweight limit.

Canelo however, won his first jr. MW title at a catchweight of 150 lbs(one which he couldn't be arsed to honour), won his first middleweight title at a catchweight of 155 lbs, had his first bout at SMW at a catchweight of 164 lbs. The Kovalev win was the first time where he won a title in a division without a catchweight, but then there was the rehydration clause, against an opponent who only got 6 weeks of training camp.

What's the point of making a thread comparing two fighters when you clearly have a bias against a certain fighter and try to undermine everything he has done.

    You sound like sour grapes.

The eye test and resume show that Canelo is the better fighter.

Actually, they do the complete opposite. You're just too blind to that.

Absolutely not. First of all, Canelo's defense is by far more superior. Secondly Canelo is far more versatile with boxing styles. He can pressure, he can counter, he can box you in the middle of the ring or fight off the ropes, fight you in a phone booth or at mid distance. He can fight you patiently, picking his shots or go all out.

Not only is he multi dimensional, but Canelo incorporates different learned skills into his fight game such as his great head movement, waist movement, shoulder roll, excellent feints and varied attacks.

My bro, you still need to watch a little more boxing, either that or remove your hate goggles.

As far as Sugar Ray Leonard goes you are simply, objectively wrong.

By the time he was 25, Leonard had fought Roberto Durán twice, Tommy Hearns and Wilfried Benítez. Later he won titles from welterweight to light-heavyweight and, for good measure, beat Marvin Hagler in a fight for the ages. No rehydration clauses or clenbuterol, plus he gave them proper time to train. In other words, Sugar Ray has wins over elite fighters that are not tainted and need no asterisk. Canelo doesn’t yet.

He won his LHW belt by fighting the LHW champ at 168 lbs.

I like Choc, but Canelo is the more complete fighter and has faced much higher level competition.

Come on. leonard did plenty to stack odds in his favor. He got Duran in the ring when he knew he would be able to get himself in shape, denied the hagler fight for a decade and forced Hagler to wear 10oz gloves and fight a 12 rd fight in a 20x20 ring all to stack the odds in his favor. I think Leonard was a legit great but let's be objective here
