Wilder will be working closely with his team of costume designers. He will be in there each and everyday between now and December 19 weighing every single component, checking the materials, trying it on for comfort. This ring walk costume has got to be exactly right if he's going to beat Fury.
I understand they are exploring the possibility of using silk rather than cotton as it has the best weight to tensile strength ratio, and breaths well under the lights.
Rodney Berman CEO of Golden Gloves ( South Africa ) has said discussions have commenced with Aust Jai Opetia IBF no 4 against SA Kevin Lerena IBF no 3 in an IBF eliminator with the winner mandatory challenger to Dorticos. Opetia is fighting on the Gold Coast Oct 22 against local opponent TBA.
Damn, was hoping the fight with David Light would be made first. Light is also scheduled to fight Nik Charalompous on November 13.
I think most CW are big enough to move up in theory. The question is... Will his skills and power be able to compensate for him being on the smaller end of top heavies these days. at 6'2 there's still hope for him.. Because Hunter, Povetkin and Usyk are relevant at HW. But let's see how the kid does at upper echelons of CW first, think talking about a later move to HW is getting a bit ahead of ourselves.
Yes, Rice is always game and gave Yoka hell in his 2nd pro fight, he could have won that one without hometown cooking...
Yeah Rice is no bum. I was impressed with how Makhmudov handled him. Showed some ring craft in that one more. Established his jab, cut the ring off a lot better, more patient with his shots. Would like to see Makhmudov against Johnson before the years over. The experience he'd get from that one would help make up for the lack of ring time in 2020. Wouldn't be surprised if Rice causes more problems for Ajagba than expected especially early on but eventually he probably gets worn down and stopped.
Honestly, Rice is probably better than anyone that Dubois has beaten until now. Makhmudov vs Kingpin, I don't know, against a much smaller, shorter guy Makhmudov could probably just bully his way into close range and wreck them with his nasty rear uppercut, I'd rather see him against a tall mover/durable guy.
Yeah but more opportunities to work his jab, ability to cut the ring off and putting punches together and of course getting more rounds. I'd like to see him in with a fellow prospect soon but until then Kingpin should suffice for the reasons stated. Better than blowing over a stiff in a round or two. He learns nothing from that.
