This fight seems dead now. Unless GBP makes a big move for it.

The legal suit will prevent any other promoter from staging it.

Rumor is Haymon is trying to get Canelo this fight on PBC side with a deal to get Canelo to fight Benavidez and Plant afterwards. If this is true, I'm for it.

 

I think this fight is actually going to happen because of the lawsuit.

So this is what happened in my head and how it´s going to play out:
The pandemic hit. Note that before the pandemic DAZN had planned Canelo to face BJS and then Murata this year. presumably 40 mil each, definitely for BJS.

Now everything is a mess.
Then BJS and Smith turn the fight down. Golovkin does so as well because he has a date lined up.
DAZN are uber unhappy.
Yildrim is an option looked into by Canelo´s team soley because no one is available.

Now DAZN won´t pay that 40 mil for anyone who is available. Canelo is pissed. DAZN is pissed. GBP is pissing their pants.
Lawsuit happens.

PBC now throws their weight around and offers Canelo the money that he wants.
And this is how we will end up with Canelo vs Yildrim
