Certainly possible. Patterson's left upper was his Sunday punch and Folley wasn't exactly durable.

I still don't think the bout would be very eventful either way due to how the styles clash. Unless Floyd manages to really nail him hard and goes for broke. The problem would be what would Floyd do if he didn't manage to end things that round? Like you said, Folley was very fast, accurate, and patient. You did not want to be out of breath against a guy like that (especially if you yourself lacked durability like Floyd).

Both guys were veterans with high ring IQ so I don't see a stoppage happening unless someone gets really greedy or careless. They'd be wary of each other's best qualities.

Zora Folley in his older years was very formidable, he won a decision over a youthful Oscar Ringo Bonavena on Feb 26 1965, then did not look bad against Muhammad Ali on March 22 1967 in Madison Square Garden, in his only title shot, before he was stopped in round 7.

Floyd finds Folley a challenging defense.
Zora has the edge over Floyd for a while, out boxing him and even clipping him for an early Kd.
Floyd shakes himself out of his rut and left hooks him in the 9 th.
Once Patterson had a man hurt he was in trouble, a vicious double hook puts him down and out.
    Patterson ko 9

Really good post, makes me wonder if Zora in that same year would have met Ingo following his bout against Eddie Machen, that ended in round 1 in Sweden. Makes me wonder if Folley would have been able to withstand Ingo's Bingo.

    Thanks Richard.
I know, perhaps he'd give Ingo a boxing lesson and even get the win over him?
Whilst Ingo was no great fighter tho, he did have that right hand, Folley would have watch out for that sailing through.
But just maybe Zora may have gotten a win Richard? Hard to say.

I'd go for Floyd but very tentatively.

Zora Folley was a decorated Korean War Hero, served our country honorably, and a good family man who obeyed the law, he never spent time in prison.

He literally had ten times the amount of fights Bonavena had at that point. Bonavena had EIGHT fights when he lost to Folley and had been over six rounds just once.

Nope, I just say it like I see it, I'm not politically correct.
