Can’t blame Yarde for making a fortune off the back of Warren hype and I guess a lucrative adidas deal. Good luck to him but he will never go down as one of the best and will be stopped every time he gets to world level or just under. Might win a WBO Warren World title one day if Frank can find a talented Eastern Euro taxi driver one day and not a punchbag.

I think I'm right in thinking that Yarde, like Sunny Edwards, has pretty much won every WBO belt ever invented barring the one that matters, both under the careful guidance of Frank Warren and his WBO tunnel.

Nah it wasn't embarrassing... he didn't just "get stopped with a jab", he was absolutely ****ed and that's the reason behind the stoppage. He took numerous big shots on the night that doesn't suggest there's a chin problem.

However I do agree to some extend in that he basically went from starching absolute puddings to being put in front of a world level operator like Kovalev. There was no bridging of the gap whatsoever and the difference in levels was far too much.

He will have however learned 1000 x more in the defeat to Kov than he would've in every single fight prior to that.... but him and his team now need to be matching him correctly going forward so that he actually does progress. He has the ability to make some noise but to do so, knock over jobs must be out of the picture.

    Each to their own.

I find it embarrassing that a supposedly world class fighter is knackered and gets stopped by a jab.

I disagree I don't think you learn anything from such a massive step up in opposition. He simply wasn't ready for it and just had a go. Nothing in his record indicated that he stood a chance. Even that small chance of him learning any lessons would be removed by his trainer/self help regurgitator Tunde Ajayi. When your mantra is basically "everyone who criticises you is a hater" you're not learning anything.

    “Confident”?!

Surely this can’t be serious? I thought it was already agreed. If Frank can’t even put on a domestic level scrap because of “no audience” then he needs to turn it in.

Let’s nip this in the bud right now:

Anthony Yarde is not a shot fighter.

I hope he doesn't get near a world title, if it means it's just going to be held hostage until need to cash out on it.

How does beating a domestic level opponent throw you back at a world title shotagain, when you've not even beat ONE world or fringe world class operator.

I see Yarde and Arthur are 7 and 8th ranked for the wbo. Would be silly if frank doesn’t get this made as the winner would definitely be due a shot at the smith jr/salamov vs vlasov winner

smith vs Yarde would be fun but smith jr would take Yarde out late I reckon

Yarde vs Arthur was on the original Dubois vs Joyce card, so that's nonsense.

Arthur is awful to watch. Saw his last fight and switched off.
    Yarde will bomb him out.

I think Arthur could outbox him and take a points win, but he can't mess about on the ropes etc like he usually does.
