No pro fighter is a bum ,least of all a long time contender.

No pro fighter is a bum ,least of all a long time contender, who always conducted himself with dignity.

I entirely agree w/ you. I think it could be boring as well. Floyd was generally exciting, but if he was fighting a guy who was doing nothing, which accurately describes Folley, Patterson would often do nothing himself. Like in the Ellis fight, from rounds 7 thru 12 he just bounced around, didn't really even throw any jabs or hooks, just kept bouncing around. He and Quarry would do the same thing occasionally in their bouts. Just bounce around and not throw a thing.

I meant from a boxing point of view compared to ATG boxers.
I don't care how boxers conduct themselves outside the ring, it's none of my business and it's irrelevant anyway.

He was a top 10 ranked contender for 10 years, beat some good men.
    He was no bum.

His staying in the top 10 rankings for a decade are certainly greater credentials than a guy who boasts about sparring his friends with no footage or amateur record, let alone professional record.

Folley moved slowly but with a purpose. He used lots of lateral movement and was good at maintaining his preferred distance. He did not have slow hands either and could throw quick combinations.

    That era was pretty weak.

Folley was a fine technician and a very well-rounded fighter, but I don't see any edge he had on Floyd. I think Floyd's speed would be the decider.

That is because he is referring to Mike Tyson, That was a real jail bird and a bum, very short lived. He likes the Bad Boys, he fantasizes.

Just likes your era. Tyson's stance was weird, his gold tooth looked kind of doofie. Folley was a real good fighter unlike these Steroid fighters of today. I am also not afraid of anyone to call it like I see it. A keyboard cannot hurt anyone.

Tyson would mop the floor with Folley and KO him in under 3 rounds

With Cus D Amato and Kevin Rooney holding his hand? I am also not politically correct too. I have been banned before, it does not matter anymore. I am tired of you youngsters trashing the good fighters of the past. Would Tyson have fought in a war? Was he a good law abiding family man?, he was a wife beater.

We say 'arse' in the UK, Mac. Although it alters your point not one iota.

So unless a boxer is an ATG, he is a 'bum'. You'd have thought someone with your affinity for the ring would have a bit more admiration for 99.9% of the men that comprise the sport.

You're not an ATG boxer either - sorry to break that news to you. Does that mean you think you are a 'bum' too?
