IMHO, Armstrong and Sugar Ray are the two guys who had a rock solid case to be on the Mount Rushmore. Personally I'd at least consider swapping out Langford and Greb for Fitzsimmons and Charles, although i think the original four are the best. Sugar Ray deserves it for being the GOAT in two different divisions, and Armstrong for his remarkable weight class jumping feats. I understand that Langford also beat men who were significantly bigger and he was kept from winning a title by cowardice and racism, but Armstrong having title reigns across three division just counts for more than Langford's status as unofficial baddest MFer, at least in my mind. Plus, it's not like Armstrong had a particularly easy time earning his first title shot either. It's pretty surprising to look back to see how many very good contenders he beat on his way to lifting the title at 126: Mike Belloise, Baby Arizmendi, Benny Bass etc.
Perhaps it is, but Armstrong having titles in 3 distinct weight classes is more impressive in my book
That's excellent top 4, I could also see Fitzsimmons or Charles here but no disagreement from my part!8
