Dramatic first fights are usually followed by boring rematches. This is gonna go 12 rounds with Whyte stealing a dodgy decision. And then Whyte will be given all the credit for 'schooling' Povetkin when he did nothing of the sort. That's my prediction.
Fancy Whyte to get the win via stoppage in the later rounds, 8-12. It’s a better fight now than it was to start with, and the first fight was intriguing. Hats off to Whyte, ko’d and then straight back in to try and sort it. No matter what the outcome, it takes some bollocks. Good luck to both boxers.
IF povetkin REALLY commits to training, i foresee another knock out. a little easier the second time around.
Very true but Whyte knocked him down multiple times and should have been able to finish before that uppercut even took place. Povetkin is extremely vulnerable
Whyte isn't going to learn anything new with this short turn around. He's not going to suddenly be able to get on his bike and win a cautious fight from distance. He's also going to have that KO fresh on his mind. This may make him gun shy. I think Povetkin stops him again. Kind of a dumb move to go for the straight rematch, but I applaud Whyte's willingness to get in there.
Whyte via UD or late stoppage. Whyte is far more cautious this time. Povetkin won’t be able to land that lefty on him.
Povetkin has a very good engine for his age. He came on strong late against Hunter. He paces himself to do the 12 rounds. I wouldn’t be shocked if this went 12 at all.
I dont think Whyte was winning as handily as is suggested... I think Povetkin was putting in solid work and inching closer and closer to the mark. I felt every round was dangerous for him. That being said... I expect whyte to train like a demon for this and come in at his absolute best. Hes shown he can hurt Povetkin... and Povetkin has shown the current state of his chin... so all things considered I think this is 55/45 in favor of Povetkin. I slightly favor Povetkins sharper punching, but nothing will surprise me.
Picked povetkin the first time and will back him to follow it up a 2nd time. Whyte is done and has been on the down slide for some time now
I personally don't see the he hurt povetkin story. I think the first KD was a attributed to Povetkin feet at the time, the 2nd KD was legit but Povetkin was not seriously hurt by it at all. Povetkin too skilled and powerful for whyte.
I think the second KD was really serious, not neccessarily finishing the fight but Povetkin needed to get out of that trouble and time was on his side. It's a 50/50 fight, but I pick Povetkin. He's more experienced and knows what to improve for the rematch.
