People forget that Byrd is just a little guy who ate bombs off the following prime fighters: Vlad K. x 2, Vitali K., Povetkin, Ike, Tua, etc. He played possum and showed a lot of heart and gamesmanship, but he was getting pummeled by many of the biggest punchers of the last two decades. His frame wasn't built for that. He's been in brutal sparring wars since childhood. The fact that he can speak decently at 50 is almost a miracle. Can do nothing but wish him well.
The irony in this comment is hilarious. A low-fat, high carbohydrate vegan diet is exactly the opposite of cancer. Look at the preponderance of evidence: Randomised controlled clinical trials and epidemiological population studies over generations, i.e every single long-term population study ever conducted (the Blue Zones, The China Study, work by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, the EPIC study etc.) USA spend TWICE as much on healthcare as any other nation on earth and $200b per year on obesity related illnesses which coexist and have implications for heart disease, cancer, type II diabetes, hypertension, diverticulitis, diverticulosis, inflammatory bowel disease, gall bladder disorders, gout, irritable bowel syndrome, kidney stones, and rheumatoid arthritis. These are not symptoms of eating too many fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds. There was actually an article in the New York Times in September of 1907 titled “Cancer Increasing Among Meat Eaters” , a 7 year study linking meat consumption with higher risk of cancer and suggested that part of the problem was how immigrants were switching from their traditional plant-based diets. The dangers of animal product consumption of any kind were obvious even back then. Since then, the evidence has mounted exponentially, unfortunately for people like you. It's funny how you also make out like veganism is breatharianism. I've been anywhere between 121kg and 95kg as a vegan. Without picking up a weight for years, i was able to regain a respectable degree of strength within 3 months I was squatting 140kg for 21 reps, arse to the grass, benching 140kg for 8 reps, overhead seated pressing 50kg dumbbells with full ROM for 14 reps and running 5k in 18 minutes. There is no such thing as 1 vegan diet, as there is no such thing as 1 "omnivorous" diet. Before you slander veganism to make yourself feel better about your own habits, maybe you should read some quality literature instead of propagating the internet with your pub talk.
It was, he made Shaun George look like an absolute monster in that fight, and George was most assuredly not a monster, especially how Chris Henry subsequently tore through him and retired him. I never wanna see Byrd in the ring again.
This content is protected Although Haye was able to get the win over this journeyman.... He should have listened to De Mori. The Vegan diet definitely weakened his body and allowed Bellew to pick up those wins. De Mori got the last laugh in the end.
hed get murdered, shame because he was a good fighter a very tough and brave bloke fighitng giants. he had a very good career.
I disagree with you about Vegan. It is and was never about health. Vegan is a belief , a Way if life of not harming any other animal. It’s utter and complete bull **** that it’s a healthy diet. The diet requires a ton of supplements and shot Cause it is lacking in so many vitamins essential for a healthy body. We are talking true vegan where it is nothing but a plant basse diet. No animal product if any forms. Years into the “diet” and you will start symptom. Brain fog, collagen issue, hair loss, brittle finger nails, aging, stomach issues. As for you high carbohydrate being cancer free, LMAO. Cancer lives of sugar. Carbs turns into sugar once digested. The only food that doesn’t get turned into sugar is fat. Problem is modern man is consuming lots of fat with lots of carbs. You have to choose one or the other and not load up on both. The health issue in the develop country is process carbs and refine sugar. Add in the sedentary lifestyle and you have an obese society in the making.
I didn’t know Dick Gregory was still alive!! Seriously though, Chris seems like a great guy I wish him well. He tried this once before at light heavyweight and it didn’t work out to well for him.
I am trying to remain as unbiased as possible, & suspect the truth may be in between. That it depends on what *kind* of vegan or meat involved diet one has. Such as you can eat more or less healthy foods, especially if more processed & too much sugar, within any diet. And how much you consume considering your size & your activity level, etc. Also the more restrictive your diet is, the more careful you need to be to get enough of many nutrients. There also must be genetic variations in how well folks do on different diets. I do think that more intense muscular activity benefits from meats & a wider range of food. While vegans if they avoid toxic-raised carnivore lifestyle & eat whole food diets may do better than others. But I gotta ask you about the weights you lifted. I converted them to pounds, & it is far from a "respectable" level of strength. I would venture that it is a very large amount of strength: what you imply is somewhat less than you used to lift is clearly beyond what a genetically average man could achieve-in a lifetime-naturally! You can research what is possible without any PEDs, & your numbers are beyond what you will be able to show me. SO I must ask: what kind of weights & reps were you moving at your peak? More importantly, did you use any courses of PEDs in your past? Steroids, HGH, SARMS, precursor or prohormones, IGF, etc? Because if you tell me no, unless you are essentially a genetic freak, what you wrote here is quite implausible: "Without picking up a weight for years, i was able to regain a respectable degree of strength within 3 months I was squatting 140kg for 21 reps, arse to the grass, benching 140kg for 8 reps, overhead seated pressing 50kg dumbbells with full ROM for 14 reps..." Most who are unfamiliar with the metric system will not realize that you are claiming to do deep as possible free wight squats for 21 reps with over 308 lbs.! Benching that same weight for 8 repitions. And doing full ROM shoulder presses with just over 110 lbs. in each hand for 14 reps! I have lifted for years, talked to many & read much about natural potential. Really it is much much more plausible that if you were inactive for years (again assuming you are not a genetic outliar with likely a huge bone structure &/or used various PEDs for years that altered your native capacities & the architecture of your muscles on even a cellular level...) If... What seems realistic is that these are the numbers you were moving for those number of reps after years away from the gym: If we are talking about POUNDS. Not Kilograms, unless you were a big juicer &/or have a very unusual genetic potential. More likely both. Most large to fairly massive men who have been continually lifting for YEARS do not even move the kinds of weights & reps you claim! Please elaborate, include your old top lifts & if you meant to say pounds, thank you!
