They didn't avoid GGG for 2 years, build Canelo up with PEDS, wait for GGG to have chinks in his armor and age, just to lose on points. There was too much invested.
I know its a joke.. I've watched both fights in slow motion and a few times normally (yes mental I know).. To me GGG beat Canelo convincingly in the second fight.. A lot of what canelo was hitting was periodic flahsy punches to arms and elbows.. Altho obviously did land good shots... Ridiculous I feel like a significant proportion of boxing fans are mentally handicapped.. Seriously how can you score either for Canelo lmao
Flashy flurries get the crowds going. Canelo probably learned that from oscar, who used to do that a lot. The 'shoe shiners' which look great, but essentially have little substance. Crowds eat that up, judges too unfortunately.
It says a lot considering he wasn't a regular Middleweight and was clearly naturally smaller. Golovkin had all the advantages and still failed. Additionally, this was Golovkin's first real test and it was still against a smaller opponent(which says a lot about his resume). Golovkin wasn't Alvarez' first real step up.
The same one that fought Chavez at a higher weight than 160 one fight prior? Not to mention who jumps around weight classes.
Sometimes slow motion helps with real fast exchanges to verify what really landed, and what was blocked, and what was just flashy.
This so called smaller man out weighed GGG'S Fight night weights when he fought at 154lbs. Canelo as a junior middleweight would come into the ring on fight night at 172 to 174lbs and GGG as a middleweight usually came in the ring fight night at 170 lbs. The most he ever came into the ring at was 173 lbs. So so much for what's his faces logic.
Yep, Canelo has the advantages of having judges, Mexican beef, weight bullying tactics (previously at LMW), He's been built up by Oscar to be something he's not. He's getting megabucks for this (undeserved) and he should have several losses on his record.
Yes, because Chavez Jr. is serious business. Perhaps compared to the quality of opposition Golovkin has faced, sure, you can consider him serious business.
