Ron Lyle V Max Baer?

I'm really a huge Max Baer fan, like, probably the biggest there is, but ... I have to pick Lyle.

 

Maxie - more durable and more unpredictable.

 

Lyle didn't stop that many durable fighters and it's not like Baer couldn't take his shots.

Ron's most famous accomplishement is going life and death with Foreman, but consider this:

1. Foreman was rusty and not in his best physical shape. He had no stamina in that fight.
2. Foreman still stopped Lyle.
3. I think that Baer was more durable than this version of Foreman.

It's not like Lyle would avoid Baer punches all night long, Lyle would get hit a lot too and he's not as durable as Maxie.

I could see Baer being too passive and lose decision, but motivated Max should stop Lyle.

 

I'm leaning Max,,,,,but there's a nagging suspicion Lyle could take this.

 

I should add for the sake of truthfulness that I haven't seen that much of Ron Lyle and that in fact my opinion of Baer is low. So, pinch of salt and all that

 

Way shittier defense.

 

Same only saw Foreman and Ali fights from Lyle. What I saw tells me he works over Baer if he doesn't gas.

 

Lyle has a stylistic advantage, but if this is happening tomorrow, then I probably end up picking the much more proven Baer.

Lyle's reputation rests a bit too much on fights that he lost.

 

But much better chin and Lyle wasn't that durable either.

 

Lyle completely outclasses and outmans Baer. It's that simple.

 

Baer with two good hands id favor.....lyle had guts but not the greatest chin or stanima
