I thought that at least it would go the way Broner vs DeMarco did.
Crazy thing is that in his 3 previous fights, Broner got pressured each night and struggled mightily(Maidana actually beat him). So on paper Molina was supposed to be at least a bit competitive or offer Broner the chance to shine.

 When they announced it, it hit me that Pac was like 36 and Floyd 38. All my expectations flew out of the window right then and there.
I was hyped for that fight for years, right up to the official announcement.

Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye also deserves a mention.

Free Oquendo vs John Ruiz. 2 Puerto Rican s great to watch to a certain degree BUT fres had the ability to be just as dirty as John was. But dangit no action, no exchanges no dirty crap: rabbit punches headbutts elbows lowblows and jawnys favorite holding. It was a dance between 2 giant men with gloves on where the ref stopped it after one punch oddly enough. No Ruiz like the golota fight no Oquendo in the Tua or Byrd fights. What a shame.

This was going to be the fight I listed.

Fight wasnt trash to me but compared to what it was supposed to be... it was a monumental letdown.

Props to Matthysse though for keeping it that way. He minimized the threat by utilizing his skills rather than trying to fight fire with fire for the fans. I cant fault him for that.

Just... was a let down lol.

    Carl Frampton v Scott Quigg.
Had all the hallmarks to be a barn stormer.
The style’s match up, there was a genuine grudge in the build up. 2 good fighters.
Then when the fight started they were terrified of each other, it was a none event.

Those with the ability to analyse a fight knew from the get-go that Golovkin was never going to slug it out with a beast like Lemieux and that he'd dominate him with the jab ;)

This isn't boxing, but pretty much nothing can beat expectation vs reality when looking at the fight between Dan "the beast" Severn and Ken "the world's most dangerous man" Shamrock.

Martinez Vs Chavez Jr. was pretty crappy viewing.

Mosely Mayorga was a terrible watch before the last second KO IIRC which surprised me stylistically.

Also why wasn't Mayorga El Toro rather than El Matador? He was definitely the bull rather than the matador. One of the least appropriate boxing monikers I can think of.

Froch v Groves II to an extent. Wasnt an awful fight or anything but probables the most hyped event in British boxing history up until that point.

Both guys usually in wars, first fight was a war with a very contoversial ending, build up was like a blood feud, got a bit personal for them.

Come fight both guys played in cautiously though we did get a lovely ko in the end.
