What's the best way to build crazy endurance for boxing ? for someone who cant run long distances (10 miles), because of time and knee injury Thank you.
But the knee injury will follow you in boxing also. If you want crazy endurance fix your knee first. While you are fixing your knee, you could swim a lot at a high pace and of course - box a lot. Sparring with multiple opponents, changing every round while you stay in the ring.
Roadwork is only one segment of endurance building. For amateur boxing, I prefer max. 5km of different runs, f.e. 800m, 400m, and fast sprints 50m, 100m. Hill sprints are also great. Besides running, there is rope jumping, swimming, and a lot of exercises like burpees, plyometrics, and the most important - boxing drills. You can do boxing drills at a fast pace, so it prepares your body for the real fight. Np m8
rope skipping, stationary bike, punch out drills on the heavy bag. I'll do whatever amount of rounds I do for technique and strategy and then set timers and just throw as much as i can in a short period and do short rests. example 1 or 2 minutes non stop just hitting the bag as hard as i can over and over and then rest 15 to 3 seconds and go hard i also do a circuit: bicycle crunch, mountain climber, burpee, squat jump punches and shoe shine, about 30 seconds each with 5 seconds in between repeated over and over
I hate running but do it I try to do sprints stairs and hills I find it less taxing on shins knees and feet since you can go real hard in a short time
Play soccer! When you are can play an entire game without sitting down even once; you will have achieved your final goal
It depends on who you are playing it with and the size of the terrain and number of players etc.. I'm playing it every Sunday, and I can definitely play the entire game without sitting down, but I'm sure that isn't enough for the boxing match. Btw, my soccer skills are quite low, so I'm bringing a lot of running, counter attacks and defense, probably running more than anybody else in the game.
Interesting: I figured with all the fast, and slow running with the stop, and go action it would be just the thing needed. I was once a long distance runner, and the game of soccer wore me out. I even played iron-man football.
It helps to build stamina in a fun way, better than boring running in circles, and with additional boxing conditioning exercises, it would probably work. One more thing about soccer and football is that injuries are common, and it could slow down boxers preparation.
