Lyle was 6ft 2 and appeared smaller than George.
If you look at their shoulders George shoulders are higher than Lyle also.
    George was taller 2 inches.

I'm going to counter that with an excerpt from a post someone made earlier. It shouldn't be taken too seriously, though, as the poster in question is a serial poultice and barks his opinions at you like they were facts. He thinks that if he is more aggressive in tone it gives his ill-informed, and poorly articulated, views more credence. Anyway here's what he said. Makes no odds anyway. Louis could have been 6'1", 6'2" or 6'10". The most significant criterion was his age. He was done by the time he fought Marciano.

    Louis ... 218 and 6'1".
    Lee Savold ... 200 and 6'.
    Jerry Jackson ... 254.
    Pat Connolly ... 213 and 6'5".
    Gilley Ferron ... 205.
    Johnny Shkor ... 225 and 6'5".

Quarry beat Lyle so I fancy Marciao and Dempsey to come inside and do the same job. Maybe a bit better

I mean facts that were made by actual outcomes and not fan oppinions.
Saying that Cleveland/Lyle would habe any chance beating Dempsey and Rocky is hilarious.

He was so done that he stopped Walcott/Bivins and gave Charles good fight?
Larry Holmes was in much worse shape than that but everyone gives credit Tyson for beating him.

Now compare Lyle with Foreman in size and you'll see that Lyle and Louis are same size.

I have to ask if you've seen Keene Simmons, Johnny Shkor, or even Bill Wilson fight, since calling them complete trash is a strong comment considering Lyle actually really struggled with smaller fighters that weren't easy targets. If Lyle was matched more often against smaller craftier fighters he would've have a lot more losses on his record.

Lyle struggled a lot with Peralta and admittedly so did Foreman, since Peralta was tough and experienced, but Peralta on his best day was no Dempsey. Lyle also lost twice to Young, who showed up in terrible shape in the rematch and still easily neutralized Lyle's power and outpointed him. If Young was able to neutralize Lyle on the inside I could only imagine Marciano crouching away from Lyle's punches and uppercutting Lyle's body at will. Lyle was very strong and could punch, but if you didn't give him an easy target he was very beatable.

Well, I do realize that calling those fighters trash is extreme, so I'll take that back since I don't know about all of them. I have seen Simmons in his fight against Norkus, but never heard of Skhor or Wilson and presumed them to be no-names. Just the same, I feel that using those names to build up Marciano's resume was a weak part of SerbianLoudmouth's argument. I do have to add that I don't think Young was in terrible shape in the Lyle fight, but remember Lyle was 35 and coming off the Foreman fight. I think it was a matter of styles, and other than Young, no one else had an easy time beating Lyle: Quarry, Ali, Foreman. I do not view Lyle as the unbeatable man many believe him to be, esp. since Young made him look utterly useless, but I do not think that happened enough in Lyle's career to be used against him, as evidenced by his strong showings vs. Foreman, Quarry, and Ali, as well as victories over great fighters like Shavers, Ellis, and Bonavena.
